  1. Yup, this is exactly why they aren't completely capping it. Even with the updates, it looks less and less likely that the San Jacinto extension will have an underpass at the railroad tracks. I really wish the city would bump up this extension on their list of Northside projects. N Main can't even handle the current traffic around UHD and having the San Jacinto extension would further connect us to downtown.... perhaps we'll have to do an at-grade extension at this point.
  2. What is wrong with this place.... seems like tenants have always hated the landlords here.
  3. Right, this is what I was thinking too. I mean, you won't have exits going south anymore but this seems like we still have most of them.
  4. Agreed but that east/west travel can take quite a hit while waiting at the rail lights. Not only do you have to wait for the trains to pass which is fine, seconds later it may turn green for yet the vehicle traffic to cross too, thus causing further delays. I have to wait for quite a while just to drop off/pick up my son to/from daycare in this area so trust me, I know. My hope is, if they eliminate vehicle traffic, this may improve east/west traffic in this small area.
  5. I also hope that this improves traffic in the area. If we only need red lights for light rail or the occasional pedestrian needing to cross, that should hopefully improve the travel times as well.
  6. Their Live Oak property is only a couple of blocks away. Their Milby properties seriously should not even be considered part of this... But either way it seems like they have enough property to claim an entertainment district. GreenStreet is only 3 blocks, to put that into perspective.
  7. Hmmmmmmmmmm.... doesn't W2 own this land? W2 owns most of the land in this area around WOMH for future development.
  8. Ahh that makes sense. Thanks. Well then I think my screenshot above still stands since the two Milby properties are very far away from the rest of these.
  9. Right but I mean.... where are the other two properties? No one has posted them here because all the other addresses people have posted are either in the Northside or they are much further away in the East End.
  10. Surprised no one has posted a basic visual of all the blocks we are dealing with here. Curious, why does the title say 10 blocks? I count 8. Here's a basic outline of the properties mentioned. Someone can create a better picture since I'm not sure they own the entire blocks but I just wanted some basic visualization for myself.
  11. At this point, it looks like only the second floor has been demo'd. The first floor appears to be remaining now.
  12. Great idea and thank you! Yes, this is the Main St I remember as a kid. I remember there being an incredible amount of potholes and my dad's truck bouncing up and down as we were driving up from the bayou. I don't remember the storefronts looking like this but I guess they were in this bad of a shape. Houston has come so far!
  13. It was always dead. We only went there because they had a special type of milk for my son that was usually sold out at Target and HEB. I told my wife that there's no way this place can last just a few months ago. There's like two floors of parking and only like 10 or 15 spots are used in the entire parking garage. Still really hoping we can get an HEB in midtown or even downtown if that's possible.
  14. Can't stand the building but hey.... at least it makes pretty wind chime music? 20230930_143609.mp4
  15. Exactly. With so much concrete wall everywhere, it will eventually start looking like this crap that was demo'd. We all love infill on this site, we can agree about that, especially when it takes a parking lot away. But we absolutely must accept when there's an eyesore being created that we're going to have to live with... Just like we've been talking about the eyesore that is the Mercer Condominiums in the Galleria on this site for almost 2 decades now on HAIF.
  16. This is an architecture forum that has a focus on design and I'd rather take a neighborhood park over this eyesore.
  17. Wow even the text for the building looks wrong. Congrats whoever built this. You managed to make everything wrong about this development.
