  1. Such interesting assumptions.

FIrst time I was standing at the intersection of Montrose and W Alabama. A traffic collision sent a car up onto the sidewalk, striking me pretty hard (my head broke the windshield.) Admittedly, my fault - I should have forseen the collision.

Second time, I was crossing a sidestreet (on the crosswalk), where a car was already stopped. The driver did what so many drivers do - looked to his left while turning right. Unfortunately, I happened to be in front of him when he did so. Broke my leg. Again, sheer carelessness on my part - had I been able to jump six feet into the air, the car would have passed under me.

Fortunately, both autos lacked pointy horns.

See what happens when you try to walk Houston? They didnt create urban sprawl for nothin, stay in your autos folks!!!

  2. roughly how much does a developer spend to have the architect/cad/designer create renderings? with so many projects failing lately, just kind of curious what type of $ is out the window on designs/rendering

This is great news. Now Houston is going to have another W hotel. I am just about ready to burst with excitement. :o

yea, we have like 3 or 4 now!!! LA, NY, eat your hearts out! :D

  3. Business hours, M-F. You can park at Bayou Place and enter the tunnels from inside the garage there. Alternatively you could park on the street somewhere and enter at the big steps in front of the Wells Fargo building, the big green one. Alternatively you could take MetroRail to Main Street Square and there's some steps down there, I forget where exactly. Or you could go to Shops at Houston Center and there's an escalator near the entrance and Monsoon that goes down to the tunnels. Once in the tunnels there is a map on the wall periodically.

While you're in downtown you might want to check out the observation decks in the Wells Fargo and JP Morgan Chase Tower buildings. You can ride straight to it from the tunnel level in Wells Fargo. In Chase you have to ride to the first floor and then ride up to it.

Thank you! and thanks for the reminder on the observ. decks....always meant to do that
  4. we're are going to have a very modern look and feel... it'll be very nice inside and out

and no we have no relations to the Crave Thai and Sushi in Austin, The Crave Lounge in Dearborn, MI or even Crave in Akron, Ohio.

Now what about Crave Cupcakes in Uptown Park Houston? :P

  5. it was, but I'm just guessing the view from Mosaic is even better since it has nothing behind it, except for 288. They'll have a view of everything, including zaza. The view from zaza was breathtaking IMO

ah. well at the Mosaic event we got to walkaround the penthouse and see its views first hand. it was at night, but yea...pretty impressive. not as dramatic as you might expect because it is pretty removed, even from dt. 2727 will knock em all out of the water.

  6. After going to that ULI event last night and getting to see the view from the balcony of a top floor room, this building will probably have the best views in the city, along with galleria high rises maybe.

They'll have the ship channel and all our other skylines, not to mention the luscious green park right in front of them.

i thought the event last nt was at ZAZA. the mosiac one was months ago
