  1. Is block 58 the market square garage that the long rendered highrise with the curved side will be built on top of?
  2. Very sexy indeed. Since when do we have black and white renderings tho?
  3. I read on wikipedia (such a reliable source, I know) says that as of August 2018, Emirates will add another flight (?) to Houston that will continue on to Caracas, Venezuela. Is this big news? If so, I'm sort of underwhelmed. I'm surprised at the lack of new flights/carriers at IAH this year. Does anybody else feel that way?
  4. Can somebody piece together a rendering of what all this will look like coming in from the North Frwy?
  5. I don't understand the rendering where it appears as though one of the top office levels of this building is taller than the peak of 609 Main. A previous post above mine states this building will be 735 feet tall while 609 Main is actually a taller building at 756 feet.
  6. Isn’t that the wrong block, guys? Those orange barricades are next to the Calpine Center but the rendering shows this tower being across the street and directly north of Chase....or am I just totally confused? btw, It may be just me but the rendering for this tower looks quit a bit shorter than 609 Main from the MMP view versus the view from the west next to the BOA building. It’s hard to gauge the true height of this.
  7. Oh ok! Wow, I learned something new today. Thanks for that. however if you’re Hines and are planning three skyscrapers like the two recently completed and this one coming out of the ground, why not build a large 100-story building instead of three smaller ones? Im ignorant to this sort of shop talk.
  8. Wow, i like it. It sort of remind me of of one of the high rises in Pittsburgh. This will be a a great addition to the skyline but what’s with the ceiling of 47-48 stories?
  9. I thought somebody had seen a rending of this before. If I remember correctly, they described the building as having a “defining crown.” Anybody? Whoever has seen it, you should draw a picture or sketch it so we have an idea!
  10. When is this expected to break ground again? Is there a floor count for this project?
  11. OOPS! Sorry, I didn't realize there was already a topic made about this. Mods, can we erase this?
  12. Whoa! Check out what McNair group is planning... https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/06/04/exclusive-mcnair-interests-planning-500m-mixed-use.html
  13. They have begun demolition on the old KHOU studios. Sort of sad to see a legacy stations building that's been there since the 50s come down because of Harvey. It's amazing how many scares are still all over Houston.
  14. As somebody who flies out of IAH often I can tell you there are days where the skyline is very clear and looks about that close.
  15. Does anybody have access to the Houston Business Journal? Apparently United is planning more domestic and international routes out of IAH. I'd be curious as to where. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/05/21/exec-united-expects-more-nonstop-service-between.html
  16. Well it's not even truly a 48 story office tower. It's 36 floors on 12 floors of parking. I don't think Houston has had a true 40+ story office tower built since the 80s. Doesnt matter. I'd rather look like I can bench 300 lbs instead of actually doing it. As long as it looks like a 48-story tower then whatever. Houston seems to be in an era like the 80s where new skyscrapers are popping up on every block. I'm loving it. as far as the height goes, I think anything taller on this block would compete too much with Chase. I want tall too but not at the expense of Chase. Do it next to the convention center or maybe on the Bank of the Southwest lot.
  17. As you enter IAH from JFK blvd, you'll notice all the signs along the left side of the road directing you to the one of the terminals based on your airline. I noticed yesterday that there is another Terminal D airlines sign that is up (and blank) but I assume they are anticipating more foreign flags soon. Any word on anything heading our way this year?
  18. I agree. This is a big nothing-burger. It's remote and too close in proximity to Splashtown. The only way this will be a big success is years down the road when suburbia moves out that way and or they eventually open up the long advertised amusement park.
  19. Is it just me or does this seem taller in person that it did in the renderings? It's making quite a little impact on the skyline from the north. Great addition IMO.
  20. So just for clarity, there are two towers, yes? block 42: 46 stories, all residential. block 58: skyscraper, office. Floors unknown. Just checking.
  21. Per a previous post, based on nothing but a feeling, I feel like this building will be the next skyscraper to go vertical. It doesn't make much sense in my mind (of course I'm not well versed in this sort of stuff) that they'd build a garage with the name-sake of the proposed building if they weren't actively trying to find tenants and get this thing to go skyward.
