  1. the current renderings of the gateway building (5 allen center) would be a stellar addition to downtown's skyline. i dont have any confirmation on whether or not it's gonna happen, but somebody gave me a "90% chance" that it gets built. better than nothing. if we could get Discovery Tower, MainPlace, 6 Houston Center, Hines North, and 5 Allen Center all built w/in the next 5 years.... i'd say that's pretty damn impressive.
  2. not to sound like an ass or anything, but is this really a hard concept to grasp? the building was designed to lean slightly outward over kirby.
  3. well damn... i really would've enjoyed that.
  4. Something i overheard on cnbc yesterday morning while getting ready for work... apparently we overtook new york for the no. 1 spot. pretty amazing, imo. Texas - 58 NY - 55 CA - 52 with Houston home an amazing 26 of those pretty cool stuff.
  5. yeah dude, we get it... you dont like soccer. now run along.
  6. yeah, if there's one thing i want to do before an astros game it's NOT drink...
  7. that's a very impressive office park.
  8. there's a ridiculous amount of office space going up in that area.... eldridge oaks, westchase park, oak park place, etc. the list is quite long. nothing too interesting, but it's as strong a sign of the current economic status in houston as you'll find.
  9. i live and work right next door to the cosmo and can honestly say that everyone around here is miffed that that is the end design for the garage.... i mean everyone. who on earth greenlit that one? it is horrendous. for the longest time i just assumed it was a temporary facade, but as they got closer and closer to finishing the exterior it became apparent that this is indeed the final design... all i can say is wow. vines would be a HUGE relief compared to what it looks like now.... somebody call randall davis and tell him he better not leave it the way it is; some people have to look at this thing every-freakin-day. i do like the continuity of the building itself in regards to four oaks place and the four leaf towers, though.
  10. it's only a parking garage... the building itself will be a very pleasant addition ot midtown, imo. if the mix is built as indicated, this intersection will become very attractive.
  11. that is absolutely mind-blowing if true.... how could something like that fall through? it almost seems like wulfe would have to go out of his way to lose whole foods. the scope of this project, along with the location and the fact that houston doesn't yet have a flagship WF practically makes BLVD Place a lock to land one. this is a HUGE blow if true.
  12. yeah, i just drove by it a little while ago... very big model sitting inside that is quite visible from the street. things are really heating up in uptown between this, cosmo, BLVD, river oaks district, and turnberry.
  13. yeah, dont forget West Ave. this entire area is on the cusp of a pretty major reformation. but i'm with you in regards to High Street (right?)... is that an entirely differnet project? what are the projected tennants, components, etc.? and this seems like an awful lot of retail in the uptown/river oaks area.... west ave, high street, galleria, blvd place, highland village, even regents square
  14. yeah, i work next door and noticed him today.... pretty funny. never noticed him before, though.
