  1. I would be willing to help in this effort. I teach at UH, so I also have access to all of their architectural magazines. In fact, I have spent many, many hours poring over issues looking for specific locales in Architectural Digest, et al.
  2. I found these two and thought they were interesting. Meyerland seems to be full of great moderns! Mod on Lymbar Mod on Birdwood
  3. That's upsetting. I've been looking for a cool modern for sale in Meyerland for several years now. I wish I would have seen this one.
  4. Thought everyone might be interested in this one. It would make a great mod of the month! 4919 Heatherglen http://search.har.com/engine/dispSearch.cf...mp;backButton=Y --Chad
  5. I just got done seeing this house. Its best feature is its exterior. The living room is pretty good, too. The rest of house is rather confusing, though, and the house seems really small from the inside. Someone started doing some work, so there is sheetrock missing in a lot of places, and paint splattered on the inside brick and paneling, which is a shame. The house needs complete renovation. It's actually not nearly as good of a house as the one on S. Macgregor that just sold for $152,000. That one was interesting and had a lot of neat features, including a much better layout. This one needs about as much work but without the payoff of original terrazzo floors, walls of glass, and a great cantilevered entry.
  6. I went and saw this house yesterday, and it has some amazing features. I think it's likely that it is the House of Formica, for every surface--walls, cabinets, bars, etc.--is covered in Formica. I don't think there's is a drop of paint anywhere. But the house is also really odd. I like strange, and this one is strange without being cool. Some of the design features just aren't right. Therefore, it's possible that we're heading for another Moonlight. I hope not, but I doubt the house will go for anything above lot value.
  7. Does anyone know how much Granit paid for the house?
  8. This is sad news indeed. I drive by that house all the time just to look at it and the cool mods around it. I wonder if they would be willing to sell it even now?
  9. I went and saw this house several times when it was on the market last year. The windows surrounding the patio are great, but the house had a lot of problems. It was definitely liveable, but previous remodels left it a mishmash. The main problem was that the garage was converted into a very large laundry room, and the fence was put up because a tiny "martini pool" was installed. This meant that there was room for two cars to park and that was it. No street parking was allowed during the day. And yes, there are A LOT of McMansions going up in the area. And the house would always be worth lot value because of it--it was too small to compete with the new ones. Still, I'm sad to see it go.
