In the same vein, what's a good resource for possibly purchasing old maps of Houston, especially the Heights?
I don't know about purchasing, but there are some maps here:

Here's an interesting one:

and here's a 1961 one. It must have been quite an event when they built the interstates - looks like a few neighborhoods got bulldozed:

Does anyone know where I can find old photos of the Hieghts and Norhill neighborhoods? Any help would be great.
Here are some:

You can also search for "Heights" and get some others. One of my favorites: http://www.cah.utexas.edu/db/dmr/image_lg....iable=e_bb_1587
The Library has an archive downtown I believe.
The Heights Association has some at: http://www.houstonheights.org/photos.htm
Some links off: http://ghpa.org/links/

They have Freebird's in Austin, too. I'm a fan. Pretty good non-burrito items, too. A step above Mission or Chipotle.

How things have been is evident. That bears no relation to how things should or should not be.
How should they be?

Friend said she saw a sign out front today that said "Going out of Business. Ladies Only". Anyone know what's going on there?

The shack looked like a booth for a fair or something. The Pappa's HQ is across the street...they were prob. doing something on there other piece o' property.
I learned they are moving their HQs out of the Heights to somewhere on 290. Wonder if they'll keep ownership of the Heights properties?
About a year ago I heard that they own a large chunk of the land across Yale/adjacent to the old rail line, and some sore of housing development was planned there - very upscale houses and walled off from the rest of the neighborhood. Anybody else hear that one? I'll check with the person that told me that and see if they know what's going on with their land.

Just west of Sage, I think, between Richmond and Westheimer is a "luxury" high-rise. No balconies....few windows. Me no likey.
