I hate to be pessimistic but I have no faith at all that this is going anywhere. It might come close, but in the end it's not going to happen. I'm not even hopefull.

Here's a list of foreign embassies and consulates in the U.S. and in which cities:

If anyone remembers Cynthia Hunt from channel 2 news and later from the Chris Baker radio show, she's a contestant tonight on some reality show on SoapNet called "Holidate" in which two women switch cities and dating scenes with each other. I'd never heard of it until yesterday and it looks like garbage, but here's the promo if you're interested:

I've been wondering when this was going to get off the ground since I first heard about it last year.
I haven't been to the zoo since spring '08. I love it there and that whole area, I just don't get around to going much.
Sounds great! Can't wait for it to open!

Some of these:
...in yogurt. YUM! ... but DO NOT eat the grape-nuts by themselves. "You'll knock your teeth out." Said one of my fellow LA AFB USAF commissary Compton-area grocery baggers in 1990... who had no teeth. I will never forget that.
I used to eat Grape Nuts dry because I hate milk and you do have to be careful, but they're good dry. Except I haven't eaten them in years. Once I got sick and threw up Grape Nuts. The sight of it turned me off to them. The Grape Nuts didn't make me sick, they just happened to be what came up.

Sweet Potato fries (homemade). I will either salt and pepper them, or sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg on them if I feel like something sweeter.
I love making sweet potato chips in the oven. Slice them really thin, spread onto a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray, drizzle with a little olive oil, sprinkle on a little sea salt and ground pepper. Bake until crispy. They're so good.

I went to the game yesterday and succeeded in sneaking in a bottle of water. I'd never even attempted it until I read the article. Thanks!

Plus, you could always dress up like a pregnant woman and hide taco bell under your shirt...
Taco Bell or Taco Bell food?
The food there is so not worth the price. Made me angry to read that the Astros and Red Sox stadiums are the only ones that don't allow food, but still, the Red Sox allow drinks. Why us? Our team stinks and we can't even bring our own food. Screw it.

Damn, reading the comment on Chron.com, bunch of Negative Nancy's.
They're like that anytime something new and exciting is proposed for the city.

Besides tearing it down, at this point I don't even care what they do with the dome as long as it's not football or rodeo ralated or that hokey sounding Texas themed hotel. Just do something already.

one could argue that the Herman park area of Houston could rival any public park space in the country. Its very nice and the trees are wonderful as well as all of the amenities nearby like the rail and the museums and restaurants. Not many cities have great park areas like this.
I couldn't agree with you more; I love Herman park. I've said before that it's my favorite part of Houston.

Nice pics! I've been wanting to get over there. This week would be nice, but it'll probably be very crowded on account of spring break. I've said it before, that's my favorite area of Houston. I just love Hermann Park/museum disctrict/Houston Zoo, med center/Rice.
Love the baby ducks! Nothing cuter than baby ducks.

Does anyone know where the 99 cent store is going to go?

I've never eaten at one, either. I have been to the gift shop area.

I haven't been keeping up much with their off season because nothing positive appears to be coming out of it.
I'll just wait until April and see.

Never been to Magnolia Gardens, though I've heard a lot about it. My uncle met Elvis there. They still have the autographed photo.

Was he murdered?

I could tell a story about seeing half a torso being pulled out of the Big Ugly river from back when I was a reporter (hint: don't pull by the arms), but I'll keep the gory details to myself.
Why yes you did, in fact. You described it as being a well cooked chicken being pulled apart. Yummy in my tummy! Thanks for the reminder.

(Note -- there's a picture of the dead guy in the flyer, so if you're squeamish about seeing dead people, don't open the attachment.)
That's good because when I saw the title I thought surely you wouldn't post a picture of a dead person. I clicked on it and was looking out of the corner of my eye until I saw that it was all clear.

Or they could replace them with those lanterns that look like they're made of paper. That's what they kind of look like anyway. I like them.

They should leave those big lights hanging from the trees up year round. They're not really all that Christmas looking.

looks like we'll be on later this 1/2 hr on world news tonight. bad karaoke christmas singing at the airport.
The video is available in on the website. Catch it while you can!
I think it's a great idea. It got some national attention on Yahoo news a few days ago as well.
Check out the poor woman at :38. She doesn't know where the "music" is coming from and looks like she's in pain.

Beyonce and Solange are going to film a concert at the House of Blue to benefit Ike relief. It's supposed on Fuse.

From last Friday; people ice skating and playing in the water, only in Houston.
Yep! Love that. Great pics.
is ICE going to be open throughout the winter? I'd like to try it, but December is always so busy.

No, that's just how I feel. Hopefully I'm wrong.
I'm not sure which thread you're referring to.
