No... not that dressy. It's not really what you have to wear, it's what you can't wear. Here's their dress code....
The following are not permitted:
- Construction boots
Oh Darn.

What are they going to do with the empty lot?
m.
I think they're going to have a big hair band concert on it. Oh wait, done did.

Does anyone know exactly what type of renovations they're doing? I was there a couple of weeks ago and they had posters that said something about changes coming Christmas of '09. It didn't dawn on me until about an hour later that it was Christmas '09 not '08. A whole year away.

There is no Astroworld. They closed down years ago.
Are you serious?

I'd like to try the ice skating rink this year. I've only ice skated once in my life and that was at Astroworld's Holiday in the Park. Does Astroworld still do that?
I prefer roller skating.

They showed the Houston skyline on Fox 26 news this morning.

Channel 13 had another story about this last week. Joanne Herring is now behind it.

Businesses are so discriminatory against cats.

Does anyone know if Lucky Strike is going to be like this one in Italy?

It's gonna stank.

I walked for a little bit this morning and thought it was great. Nothing was open. It was too early. I agree it will be better once it's complete.
Granted I have bad taste, I like all the bamboo.

I was good with the hotel idea when it was first proposed a couple of years ago, but my opinion has changed since then. I agree it's a cheesy idea. Judging by the old rendering it was hokey. As I said already, they'd probably give it a corny Texas theme.
As for this studio, I'm not all that confident it'll happen, but I'm for it if it does.

Movies without the typical stereotypes and actually showcase our skyline like the other cities you mentioned.
It would take a Houstonian or someone very familiar with the city to make that happen.
I don't trust none of them dang outsiders. They best keep on outta here anyhow.

rgr:
astrodome studios now has a website
www.astrodomestudios.net
It finally has some content. It only said "coming soon" for what seemed like months.

If I go there and see a chuck-e-cheese robot band dressed up like The Clash, I'll probably agree with you. If I go there and see a real live band that I know and like, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
Oooh, animatronics! That'd make me go more!

I love it: the world economy is circling the drain, the banks are being nationalized, and people are upset the jumbotrons are not installed.
Want some bread to go with that circus?
I know. What's going on with those jumbotrons, anyway?

I think it's pretty common for all cities to refer to their airports as "the big airport" or small one. You hear it occasionally on the cable news networks when they're reporting from different places.

Here's a video from channel 11:

It looks good, some places better than others... I hope Books-A-Million has some nice study areas. And it looks like they have a lot of trees to be planted along the streets, which should look nice.
I saw some palm trees waiting to be planted the other day. I don't know where they're going.

What's different about Body Worlds 2 than the one a couple of years ago? And what dinosaur exhibit?
They always show those Body Worlds commercials while I'm eating.

Oh well, that will be here before you know it. :-)
Just in time for Rockets season.

Lucky Strike and Yao's won't open until November.
Houston sightings
in Houston and the Media
Posted · Edited by KimberlySayWhat
I recorded a program on PBS last night. It was a concert of music producer David Foster featuring artists who've recorded his music. There was a nod to Houston, not by name, but Boz Scaggs came out on stage to sing that song "Love Look What You've Done To Me" from "Urban Cowboy" and the Houston skyline was visible on the stage's giant screen throughout the song.
I found a video:
