How about some direct service to Vietnam and India? Feel like this market could support that. I suppose Emirates and Qatar handle much of that demand now....

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
htownswami replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
Seeing those pictures I can hardly contain my excitement about this project up here in NYC!! I can't wait to go check it out in person when I'm down for the holidays. I really hope as has been discussed many times on this forum, that this along with the several other downtown projects establish critical mass for a consistent pedestrian environment and a vibrant urban atmosphere particularly at night after work lets out and in the weekends. It really improves many facets of life to at least have that option in our city(we'll still have plenty of spread out areas and that is fine as well) and will improve this Great City into another tier of world class... -
Memorial Park At 6501 Memorial Dr.

So there is an American Apparel store now on Westheimer and Dunlavy. Does that mean that the one that was supposed to open in the Sakowitz building on Main has been scrapped? Are they waiting for Pavillions to get off the ground before building? -
The Galleria Mall At 5085 Westheimer Rd.
htownswami replied to TreaderCRC's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
Do we really need more movie theaters? We have so many mega 20 plus screen theaters all over town already. Isn't the 30 screen on Dunvale and the Edwards on Weslayan enough for that region? The only theaters that I think may be cool to have more of are Alamo Drafthouse or River Oaks style theaters offering a bit of variety both in ambiance and types of films. -

The Mark Condominiums At 3505 Sage Rd.
htownswami replied to Scott44's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
My brother lives in the Mark on one of the top floors. I would say it is a pretty nice complex. He has a one bedroom but I think they have several floor plans. Of course its a great location with easy access to the freeways. They have a nice pool lobby area, 24 hour security and complementary valet as well. Just a couple months ago the management team changed, and made alot of landscaping changes and added marble to the hallways. They seem to be aggressively selling. I'm not really sure why the previous team didn't sell as many units. Oh and if this is an added bonus, Shaq O'Neal has a unit there and we've seen him pass through a couple of times in the offseason with his daughter.- 9 replies

Well we did make the playoffs last year and lost to the Lakers in the first round, but that was a totally different team with Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, etc. I feel much better about this team, we've got a bonafied superstar in TMac and great role players. With one more win we'll be a 50 win team which I dont think has happened since Charles Barkley was here (97?). I was at the game on saturday and really enjoyed it, that was a big game. Now were jockeying for positioning with Sacramento and Denver. It should be a fun playoffs. BTW a really good rockets fan site is www.clutchfans.net they have pretty lively forums.

The RO: Mixed-Use Development At West Alabama And Buffalo Spdwy.
htownswami replied to YakuzaIce's topic in Going Up!
This may put a damper on Houston's hope for an MLS in the near franchis. It appears San Antonio has an inside track for getting a franchise next year. Im sure Texas can support three teams but I would think it amy be a while.. http://sports.yahoo.com/mls/news?slug=mlss...ov=st&type=lgns -
The list as of 2004 is at the following with Memorial City #17 and the Galleria at #5. It looks like it is measuring the malls by Retail space and not total space so Mall of America is not actually #1 but #4. http://www.ecsu.ctstateu.edu/depts/amerst/MallsLarge.htm

Just read in the chronicle- http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/m...politan/3003806 that the county may start planning the extension of the Grand Parway loop to run from Katy, I-10 west, north all the way to 59 east in Kingwood I guess. Does anyone have any details on what the plans for this are in terms of what communities it will pass through(Tomball Woodlands?). Not sure how much traffic this will ease in existing roads but it may be an investment in future development.
