Old post I know, but knowing you are a Katy-ite... Don't you think that The Vintage Center, more closely resembles "The Villagio" in Cinco Ranch? At least there is life (beyond restaurants) in LaCenterra. Both The Vintage Center and Villagio are overdone "upscale" food courts with too few tennants. They seem to share the same problem... low occupancy, fabulous "plans" but little actually to show for it. I think the current economy has taken a blow to the Wanna-bees. You NW folks, will see what I mean if you ever visit a friend in Cinco and drive by The Villagio... Villagio = Vintage, same ****=different location

My kids go/went to The Learning Center (at Living Word Lutheran Church) It is at Mason & Westheimer Parkway. They even have, if you are interested, a private kindergarten. I think there are plenty of church preschools in Cinco to choose from. But Seven Meadows is mainly just houses and the strip center at HEB & Home Depot.

You asked about Jr High as well... We recently had a rezoning over beckendorff jr hi and the new woodcreek jr high. Many neighborhoods very close to beckendorff will have to go to woodcreek even though it is further away... up katy gaston near I-10. You can see the zoning map at www.katyisd.org If Jr Hi won't be immediately, I wouldn't sweat it. In 2011 there will be a new jr hi built by seven lakes high school, and many of us will be rezoned to that...closer to home. Which leads to a big point in these parts of KISD, the population is booming, schools are being built and rezoned over and over again. No builder or realtor can promise you that you will stay at a certain school, so not the best idea to choose a house based on 1 favorite school. Seriously, there are people who live accross the street from one school and are rezoned to another.

Ok, this time for real, we think we have found the perfect house .... looking for any input on the builder/neighborhood before we show "official" interest Also... school... it is Lamar Consolidated, at first I had my heart set on Katy ISD and Cinco Ranch area but the elem school (frost) shows as exemplary (we already have 2 in school) Also, for building a home did you use a realtor? Was it of any benefit? We have contacted a realtor (dave flory) to sell our $100k home in Cypress and wondering if we should ask him to represent us in buying a $200k home in Richmond... would it be worth our while?
