  1. so it's just bricked up? it LOOKS like windows from below, but i have to admit i have never been up in allied (now wells fargo) to see it at eye level.
  2. seems like a big wastge of space if all that pyramid is empty. i think that part would make some GREAT apartments/condos? think of the views!
  3. what's up there in the top? the part that looks like an aztec pyramid? or in the lower half that has the same design? i heard there was an indoor parking garage?
  4. so now there are about 5 theories: 1. aliens --interesting but not probably --at least not in my 'hood 2. frogs (in trees no less) 3. chickadees 4. bats 5. nighthawks lol i was really serious when i wrote the post this a.m., but this is getting comical. lol
  5. it must be a LOT of frogs then. cause i swear i hear them from every direction.
  6. are they out in the daylight or will i only be able to see them at night? i guess a flashlight would help too.
  7. yes ... that is it exactly. a bunch of randon peeps (or chirps) coming from all around and no where ini particular. really strange.
  8. the weird part is that i seem to be the only one hearing them. i found it strange that i heard them in westchase and also downtown. it's like this sound is all over houston.
  9. maybe that IS what i am hearing. since i never see them though... are they native to this area or migratory?
  10. i'm thinking birds too ... just that i NEVER see them. they must be small and fast flying. although i love coast to coast am at night, and gov't conspiracy theories, alien encounters and abduction like the best of 'em, it just must be my bad eyesight and their fast movements.
  11. never touch the stuff. not sure i want to snap my fingers and have hundreds of bats fly towards me ... i am sure i would need the chronic after that experience though. lol but seriously, it is kinda spooky --these sounds, because like i said, it does not sound like crickets and birds are not usually up all night.
  12. has anyone else been hearing these weird chirping sounds at night? i thought it was birds or something as it kinda sounds like a fire detector that has a low battery. but the sounds come from one tree to the next (and sometimes from the sky). i was also thinking bats? i know what crickets sounds like --or at least i thought i did. been hearing it in westchase, but also was downtown last night and heard the sounds there too ... i have not seen any evidence of birds making the sounds.
  13. i do not play the 'city' card too often because i have lived other places than houston, but what the heck does she know about houston? i mean, how would she feel if some houston developer (say gerald hines or the like) said "let's raze gracie mansion"? i doubt that would sit well with many new yorkers.
  14. gosh, could that opening have been less homogenous? not a black or brown face in the bunch. i just love how they whitewash texas like that. lol
  15. you are so right. there are 2 buildings in philly with that distinctive crown. although the bank of the southwest would have been much taller.
  16. it looks like a jail ... God help the people that have to work there.
