  2. from what i've seen of the signatures in the chronicle, her signature is quite different. don't know if they are gonna get her on this, but it does seems like she is ruining her chances at being taken seriously as a future mayoral candidate by houston voters.
  3. i tend to use feeds in thunderbird, cause i can check my mail and my news feeds all in one place. ones that i really like: bbc technology http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_wo...nology/rss.xml# christian science monitor (they keep it real) http://csmonitor.com/rss/top.rss cnn money (not that i have ANY money to manage, but i still like to know what's going on in the business world) http://rss.cnn.com/rss/money_latest.rss HAIF (of course) http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...act=rssout&id=1 houston chronicle (or as it's known now ... chron.com) http://www.chron.com/rss/chronicle/index.rss macnn.com (macintosh news and info) http://www.macnn.com/macnn.rss national geographic http://news.nationalgeographic.com/index.rss wired news (tech with flare) http://wired.com/news/feeds/rss2/0,2610,3,00.xml
  4. cool. i live out on fm1960 @ i45 so it might be nice to stop in.
  5. looks like a bigger fish just swallowed up sports authority. see the full article here.
  6. well, i kinda think God put my hair in certain places for a reason. buy when i do decide to trim/shave my 'delicates', i am certainly not gonna do it in the gym lockerroom bathroom.
  7. here's another one i just thought of: people that SHAVE in the gym! they stand at the sinks and shave as if they're at home i am not a prude or anything, but i do not want to use the sinks where skin, blood, hair, and lawd knows what else may have contaminated the place. yuck!
  8. i think this was mentioned a long time ago, but here goes again: houstongasprices.com.
  9. ok, just checked out the news page and it is a lot better. maybe i will make that my bookmark instead.
  10. my problem is not so much the ugly colors (i will probably get used to that) but that it seems to be even LESS focused on real news than before --which isn't saying a whole lot.
  11. click here to check it out ... it is kinda like those myYahoo and myMSN or myAOL home pages. more STUFF and lot less things you really want ... i dunno. when i goto washingtonpost.com or newyorktimes.com i want news ... not fluff and prettiness.
  12. it really does look like a lot less news. almost like they were going for a blog look or something... i guess you just have to hunt deeper down for it.
  13. it just depends on what i am doing and how much is on television. lately i have not really been on here even during daytime hours. ...guess employment has a way of taking up a lot of free time.
  14. have y'all seen the new look of the houston chronicle? just wondering what you think of it. i have not really had a chance to play around with it too much, but first off i think the color (that hideos orange) sux big time.
  15. wondering if anyone (here) has been involved with houstonpodcasting.org
  16. i'd really like to see those clear plastic tubes (like at the motorbanks) shooting passenger trains through tubes all across town. that would be cool!
  17. but does that argument really hold true. i mean, heck, new york is an island and they have a fabulous tunnel and underground.
  18. i did not hear that one. i am sure someone on this list knows though. this is a very SMART and up-to-date bunch of folks.
  19. you mean the rail system? seems to have had a few other community debates a few months ago, but i have not heard much about it lately. i think they are still hashing out the legalities of bait-n-switch, as several areas were promised one thing, and now they are talking of delivering something else to them.
  20. neither was the most brilliant play, i'll agree.
  21. yeah, i am not a war or bush supporter, but that was a very loaded question. just steer clear.
  22. didn't i just hear that walmart is pushing for a higher minimum wage. get this ... they want the higher wage so that they can put more of a squeeze on competitor's earnings since they (walmart) already pay above the minimum wage.
  23. 1. bad drivers ... and houston seems to be filled with a bunch of them! 2. dirty public bathrooms when i really have to 'sit' 3. shaking people's hands ... adrian monk has NOTHING on me. 4. walking my dog and her not going to the potty ... like why did you scratch the door down to get out?!? 5. leftovers! yuck! lol i'm sure there are a lot more, but those are some that come to mind.
