  1. The upright grills are due to the pedestrian safety laws....you are right - they will be showing up on all new cars....the new E-Class coupe even has a hood that pops up if you run into something to lessen the impact...
  2. They just completed one office park on 45 and Beltway and are building another one on the other side of our building. The six years that I have been here have seen quite a turn around in the area from the "Gunspoint" days....it's not there yet - but it's alot better....It is extremely convenient to IAH, easy access to highways...and EXPO Motors just opened (doesnt that prove it's a great place!! LOL) That tower would be a great addition to the area....I hope they build it...
  3. I noticed the other day when they had the heavy machinery in there tearing apart the structure....was it all patio stuff they tore out or did they dig into the building also (Ive never been in the place) Looks like quite the makeover!
  4. What happens to your "investment" in a situation like this - does your insurance cover you? I can't imagine getting kicked out of my home like this....I suppose the alternative of having the parking garage collapse on me would be worse though...
  5. There is a banner hanging above what appears to be the parking entrance.....I just caught it out of the corner of my eye, but I think it said now leasing, or now selling.... The website is www.tennisonloft.com but it's not up and running correctly yet...
  6. Some of those townhomes are 10 feet from the tracks - don't they shake and rattle when a train goes by? ...okay, maybe they are 20 feet away!! I can't imagine living that close to the tracks...especially for that kind of money...
  7. Wasn't nailing him at all - was only showing him other info about his topic....
  8. Older info about it here: http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...3&hl=monaco
  9. LOL....I didnt realize that was the actual name - I guess it's obvious!!
  10. Has anyone read the sign about the new apts that are being built ? What is the name, do they have a website...? Im always driving and can't look over long enough to read it !!
  11. It's a lesbian bar....they had a fire a while back - that's why they are remodeling...
  12. It's amazing to drive by that spot now - it's just a flat piece of dirt.....with some green spray-on grass seed over by the new apartments....(at least before it rained!)
  13. LOL....I was thinking the exact same thing !!!!
  14. Is this still going to be built? - I havent' seen too much action around the place lately....
  15. Does anyone know how pre-construction sales are going on this project?
  16. Woo Hoo - Im there after work !! Update: Just finished shopping - they opened today - they are having a few growing pains....the auto doors didnt work !! It's kinda weird, there are more employees walking around than customers !!! Nice store though - they do have food - but not produce - lots of new store specials....
  17. Construction has started on this project.....you can see it if youre going south on 45 into downtown and take the Quitman exit - it's on the right overlooking downtown and White Oak bayou...
  18. I had a "reserve" on a unit at The Vistas - which meant I put a deposit down and then was waiting until construction was finished - the builder listed the unit as sold.....since construction took a year longer than they told me when I "bought" my unit - I cancelled....so when they say the units are sold while they are being built - it means someone has put down a deposit - I dont know how many actually go to contract though...
  19. I just noticed the sign on the building the other day - there were a couple guys working outside the building painting and such - they have actually been working on the building for several months... It does seem like a strange place for a Soul Food restaurant - but as you said, it's good to have another food choice.....lets keep our fingers crossed
  20. I stopped by the "In Town Homes" trailer on Washington (near Sawyer) last weekend to talk to the realtors and find out what houses they are marketing in the area. They have bought almost all the land from Washington northward/Sawyer eastward (not all of it of course - but alot of it) - they will be tearing down the old warehouses and will be building homes on them over the next couple of years....if you want to buy a house with good potential for appreciation - this would be the time.....they are in the high 100's and low 200s right now....
