No no, you got me all wrong, I have no intentions of making fun of anybody. Anyway, you are probably quite a bit older than me, so it would be disrespectful of me to make fun of you.

I'll go buy one and tell you.
Alright. And Red, that one's too big, he might play some sick game where they all yell "Me!"

More than likely the space will get a couple of Fertita's restaurants and some mini-storage place. More of the same sprawl the Houston is famous for.
I would be extremely disappointed if they put something suburban like that that close to DT. Though I wouldn't put it past some developers trying to make a quick buck.

> Probibly because it wasn't me...
When are you home? I'll bring a big flag and wave it around and say "Me!!"
What kind of flag? Just in case someone see's someone else waving a flag and yelling "Me"?

Not that I know of, but I may have. Though sometimes I do meet people that I would expect a person on here to act and then I imagine them as that person.

Can't wait to see a rendering. And is $1.50 per sq. ft. quite low for midtown? It seems very low.

She must be getting hate calls on her cell phone.

It would be pretty honoring if Houston was one of their first locations in the U.S.

Pret a Manger on the street level corner.
I LOVE Pret.
They look like they have good food. Do they have any locations outside of Britain?

I'm glad they gave you a set date so that we don't have to guess when the announcement is. Thanks for posting their reply, can't wait to see what they have to tell us.

If true, that would be awesome. I hope it happens, I really like the Nabisco building for some reason.
woot! 1,000th post!

Good article. Ahh, I can't wait for it to start, it's so agonizing.

Actually I think some sort of entrance would be cool too. Maybe have a statue of someone important or a plaque describing the area a little bit with good landscaping.
-
I am so happy that they are starting on the project. When it's done hopefully it will be another excellent project completed under Houstons belt.

alright, I will expect the worse then, just hope it doesn't go towards the worse.

I think it's a cool plan, especially the oaks and widened sidewalks.
And square is cool with me, I think Holcombe Triangle would sound a little off.

Awesome, now I guess we just have to wait for groundbreaking? Woohoo!

Sounds like a good project. I wish them luck.

What? I hope you can share with us!

I think it would be nice to see some competition between developers.

Hmm, out of those, I think I would go with either Yoshio Taniguchi or Zaha Hadid.

I am almost always optimistic about all of the projects I hear of, but after a while of hearing nothing I was actually starting to get worried.
I'm still crossing my fingers for this project.

Thanks for the tidbit, I can't wait to see if they make the announcement and what they'll say.
And, welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us do.

But giant car dealerships are suburban too, that would be horrible.
