  1. I think Coog's digging himself deeper and deeper. He should just hush while he's ahead And when i finally have kids, i'll be sure to keep them away from desirous. His comment sounded a little Michael Jacksonish !!!
  2. that pic was sweet. looks like downtown is already becoming more popular
  3. This is great news. Wasn't Dallas trying to say that the entire DFW area had more fortune 500 companys than the Houston area at one point? I'm confused.
  4. Man!!! You can't even bring a BBQ grill and there's no grills in the park. All that money to stay around downtown and people can't do what they want. That's whack !!! You know us black folks love our BBQ.
  5. Well yeah anything beats those ugly parking lots so I guess I can't be too choosy. I guess i'm more turned on by flashy things like the screens in Victory Plaza and LA LIVE, even though Victory Plaza is mainly Concrete and really not intended to preserve green space. And Sub, you may be right
  6. I'm sorry to be such a downer but I've never been too excited about this park. I mean, it is an attraction and it is a nice place and it is downtown but its just a park! I can get everything this park offers by going to Herman Park or other parks throughout the city. I'm more excited about the Houston Pavilions and the possible stores that will be opening on the Main Street front
  7. Ok, the rubik cube/tetris thing IS a stairway to the parking Garage. I can confirm this because i was at the park Saturday night with my girlfriend and we parked in the garage.
  8. That'd be cool, even though we got those mini mart dollar store on main st already. I'm just hoping for some more retail, like clothing or NIKE town.
  9. Thanks for the photos. I too got kicked out of the park when i was in town on Saturday night. There was some event going on but i was still able to drive around and take a look at all the lighting effects of the park. It was really starting to come together. I hope they put blue lights in the pond when complete to hi-light the view of the pond at night .
  10. Maybe its just me, but i don't see no Houston Pavilions in that photo.
  11. Wow those are some awesome shots sabotai. Great angles and detail. Thanks. Keep em coming.
  12. ^^^ So how does this tie in to the planned intermodal station that Metro is planning on? Is there remediation work being done on the portion of land that's slated for that project?
  13. Well i don't care if its north, east, south, or west. The damn thing needs to just get built already! Something Victory Park like style
  14. Took my fiance to The Grove Restaurant on Friday. Nice atmosphere and the food was pretty good but not for that price. We both ordered the Pork Chops. I didn't get the amount of food that i thought I should have for the amount of money. Mine was good but they burned my girlfriend's. They ended up taking hers off the bill so it worked out.
  15. Yeah try to be a little more specific. Is it supposed to be mixed use or strictly office? You could be talking about a new McDonalds planned for all I know. Just kidding, but you get my drift!
  16. much better! I do have sensitive eyes though!
  17. I disagree. Some of the best lighting downtown has are lit with neon such as Wells Fargo's white neon top.
  18. Hold up everyone!!! Where's the source on this? The land has already been cleared for High Street. You must be talking about the Westcreek Development which is on the lot right next to this. The Westcreek Apartments were supposed to be knocked down but word is that they will be around for a little while longer. Ask Westerngulf, he seems to have the updates on this
  19. How about let's work on getting rid of the disgusting Christmas lights first. The green neon building actually gives the skyline some color and flavor @ night. Where did you find this hazy pic of dt? Hurts my eyes just looking at it.
  20. Yeah, let's keep it real. Why don't you and i agree to meet next friday and i'll show you how we do it here in downtown. Since you and dal think its dead. Downtown is every much as hoppin' as it was before. We'll encircle the whole downtown all the way thru pink monkey/toc bar area and head out to the Rocbar which i think would be more of the crowd that you hope to gain. IT willl be "hoppin". Oh, and you don't have to worry about African Americans at the Rocbar. That should make you feel comfortable enough . Oh and how about that Pavilions project?
  21. The racecard ain't BS when i read posts like the one you made. All i'm saying is, don't try to act like it's not a color issue when clearly it is. Downtown is not catering to the crowd you or dalparadise likes so its considered "Dead". Me and an out of town visitor went downtown and there were various clubs going on. We both thought downtown was happenin'.Everytime i go to midtown, there's something going on but i don't see one person of color. That inclines me to believe that's more of the crowd you're looking for. All i'm saying is, keep it real!
  22. Not trying to throw out the race card here but the more i read posts like this, the more i realize that some people here are scared of African Americans. I went to the same Main Street on Friday night and it was not dead. This was about 11:00 pm. I think some of you all are trying to keep from saying that a high presence of African Americans turns people away. If you think Midtown Houston is actually hopping compared to Main Street, then i have nothing to believe other than the people on Main Street are scaring you guys off. Sorry Mods. It had to be said.
