  1. There is empty land on the western side of Buffalo Speedway between Westheimer and Richmond. This is prime real estate sitting vacant. Is anything happening down there? By the way, which part of midtown is seeing most development so far? I drove north on Main Street coming from TMC. The area between TMC and 59 is, of course, nice. However, once I had passed under 59 and entered Midtown, I didnt notice any of the new constructions everyone is talking about. I drove until Alabama, turned east and returned via Fannin since I didnt have much time but just wanted to take a quick look. I did see a new condo building on Fannin, just south of Alabama.
  2. I havnt been to Dallas. Yeah, Seattle does have great freeway entrances. However, I think most of that is due to natual beauty of the area created by the hills and lakes. Unfortunately, we dont have that kind of natual beauty in Houston. You could also count Highway 1 going to San Francisco via Golden Gate bridge or the Parkway going to New York City from upstate New York. However, again, thats due to the hills and water in the area. What have they done with US75 in Dallas? I guess they could try replicating that in Houston. By the way, you aren't from Dallas, right?
  3. Hey UrbanLandscape, In that case, I guess you could say that about freeways in any big city. After all, which big city freeway is NOT boring/depressing? Driving on NJ Turnpike going to NY or driving on I-5 going to LA is just about as boring. Please don
  4. NewMnd, Yes, indeed, they need to bulldoze over that Zone Erotica with all the stuff in it. That thing stands out like a pimple in an otherwise upscale area. I am new in Houston and when I first drove into Uptown, this business immediately caught my attention since its so prominent and right by the freeway. Doesnt give you a good first impression of Galleria area.
  5. NewMnd, According to this story in houston chronicle, it seems that there are already some plans for shopping centers at Post Oak and San Felipe. Cant say if developers are actually going ahead with the plans but at least something is going on. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/b...sarnoff/2636415
