  1. Each of the 4 High Schools in Klein ISD opened with atleast 3,000 students this year. Yes, Klein Collins has seen tremendous growth. It is actually kind of rediculous sometimes being in a school with almost 3,400 students. KCHS was projected to open with 3,246 but opened with way more than 3,300. This could be a rumor but there was speculation going around that there were about 1,000 freshman alone. The school has a total of 14 T-Buildings this year. Another thing that fustrated many students this year was lockers. There isn't enough lockers for everyone in the school, so there is a $6.00 charge for lockers this year. Not one student was issued a locker this year. Most students just carry backpacks from class to class, not to mention numerous books due to the lack of class sets. Lunch lines are most of the time crowded from bell to bell. Administration was supposed to add a 4th lunch this year, don't know what happened. It has gotten worst. Most kids don't even socialize in the halls anymore due to the over populated student body.

  2. Let's hope the next PASA report is more factual than the last one. Thanks for the heads up on that, I look forward to seeing that. Also, I had heard years ago that the land Krimmel sits on was originally purchased by Klein, not for a school site, but for a district-wide natatorium. Guess those plans changed along the way somewhere. Be sure to let me know when the PASA report comes out, will you?

Yeah, I will let everyone know when the report comes out. I failed to mention that Klein ISD also purchased 102 acres of land for an Elementary, Intermediate and High School site. The property is located on FM 2920 and Huffsmith Korhville, but part of the property is at Mahaffey Road and Huffsmith Korhville Road. The high school zoning will be weird having 2 new High Schools very close to the border line of the district. The other one is just south at Spring Cypress and Huffsmith Korhville.

  3. Makes you wonder why they built Krimmel all by itself, with no high school nearby. Also, why they built Krimmel so close to Hildebrandt, which does share their fields with its' connecting high school, Klein Oak. Weird.

Well Klein ISD had already owned the land that Krimmel sits on for a number of years prior to the construction of Krimmel. Maybe when they bought the land they planned on buying the land adjacent to the west of Krimmel for a future High School, but a developer bought it and The Lakes of Avalon sits there currently. The reason the land is so close to Hildebrandt is because the district knew it would have to build in that area in the future due to the fact that the Hildebrandt zone is the largest Intermediate Zone in the district. It is still also the fastest growing along with the Klein Oak zone even though Klein Oak has the smallest High School enrollment in the district. That entire area near FM 2920 and Kuykendahl is booming at a very fastly past. Klein ISD also owns another Intermediate site north of FM 2920 at the intersection of Kuykendahl Road and West Rayford Road adjacent to Metzler Elementary School. I'm assuming when Krimmel reaches tremendous growth and Hildebrandt reaches tremendous growth again they will begin construction, Or they might just build the one on Spring Cypress first. We'll see what the January 2008 Bond Plan has instore. The new PASA Report should be released this comming up month according to Klein ISD.

  4. Ummm, NO. I can only hope you're joking. Why not just name it Eversole High then? UGH!

    On a related note:

Has anyone else driven past Krimmel and thought that it looked a lot like a minimum security prison, complete with a stadium to rival Klein Memorial and tons of tennis courts? Do most intermediate schools nowadays get all this?

I drive past Krimmel atleast twice a week. I think that it is a beautiful school. You can tell it resembles Schindewolf. The reason it has numerous tennis courts and a pretty nice size stadium is because it's new and does not share it's site with an Elementary or High School. Schindewolf has 2 tennis courts but not as many as Krimmel. Schindewolf does not have a stadium because everything is shared between Klein Collins and Schindewolf. When Klein ISD builds a High School and Intermediate on the same site, Fields and Equipment is usually shared. This is not the case with Krimmel. Another new thing in construction Klein ISD is doing is putting nice Marquee Signs in front of new Schools with Ingraved school names and addresses. Benignus and Krimmel have them. In the 2008 Bond Program they need to provide money for Klein Collins to have a Marquee Sign. It's the only High School in the district without one. Krimmel will have it's grand opening and public tour August 8, 2007.

  5. My daughter starts kindergarten this year, and her whole school(Bear Creek Elementary) is being renovated inside and out. New brick all around the outside, new sheetrock and wiring on the inside. I am very surprised and very happy about this. My tax dollars at work.

Is Bear Creek Elementary School in Conroe ISD? If so when was there last Bond Program?

  6. Elementary 21 will be located on Imperial Valley Drive across from Andy Dekaney High School, and Elementary 22 will be constructed in the Northgate Crossing subdivision near Northgate Crossing Drive and the Hardy Toll Road. Both schools are projected to open in August 2008. Both Campuses are upgraded versions of Lewis and McNabb Elementary Schools.

  7. Funny. I ride my bike to that high school/intermediate/elementary school area everyday. :P

And yes, I've noticed soooo many mobile trailers! It looks like they'll have to actually expand the building instead of bringing mobile trailers there. The main reason for the tremendous increase of students is the tremendous growth that is going on in Spring. I don't think the builders of the schools expected that kind of growth.

Are you a student at Schindewolf? Yes, the whole area is crowded especially on the first day of school, It's a mess.

  8. Schindewolf Intermediate School opened August 19, 2002 with an enrollment of 1,025 students. Schindewolf shares a 117.5 acre site with Klein Collins High School and Kreinhop Elementary School. The school was built to relieve neighboring Hildebrandt Intermediate School which then was way over capacity like it is currently with about 1,700-2,000 students. That's why Krimmel was built. Schindewolf went from 1,025 students in the 02-03 school year to about 1,200 in the 04-05 school year. In the 04-05 they added 1 T-Building for capacity issues. In the 06-07 School year they added another one. Now for the upcomming 2007-2008 school year Schindewolf will house 1,339 students starting August 27. Here recently Klein ISD just added 2 more T-buildings, so thats 4 T-Buildings for Schindewolf. My question is will Schindewolf end up like Hildebrandt just was with 14 T-buildings before the district actually decides there needs to be another Intermediate School built? Approximately 1,703 Students will attend Schindewolf within the next 5 short school years. By the way Klein ISD Just added 2 more T-Buildings to Kreinhop Elementary and another was added to Klein Collins High School along with the 5 existing added last summer. They also added more T-Buildings at Benignus, Hassler and a couple more Elementary Schools. Klein ISD needs to do some rezoning or plan on building 8-10 new schools in the 2008 Bond Plan in progress.

  9. Since Kohrville is in the area, it could be named Klein Kohrville HS. Or it could be called Klein Gleannloch HS.

Well Korhrville has already been taken by Korhville Elementary which is about 4-6 minutes away from were the new school will be located. Gleannloch is not a klein name. It's not associated with Klein ISD in any way. Keyser and Werner are Klein ISD German names that will eventually be used for a future Elementary or Intermediate schools if not for the new High School. Adams comes from Adam Klein the German who settled in the area which is Klein ISD today, He's the namesake of the district. According to a Board of Trustees policy each Senior High School in the district must begin with "KLEIN".

    Klein Kaiser Wilhelm.

Kaiser is already used in an Elementary School. Where did Wilhelm come from? It sounds German.

  10. In February, the Cy Fair ISD Board of Trustees approved the construction contract in the amount of $11,506,000 for the construction of Elementary School #48 and $11,442,000 for Elementary School #49. Elementary #48 will be off of West Little York Road and Elementary #49 will be off of Westfield Village Road. Both campuses are new designs for the district but have characteristics of previous campuses.
