  1. Man, I cannot believe that!

The board said two years that the PASA report would contain enough information for them to do long-range planning for the next 20 years, and YET...

Plus, the cost for this study was something outrageous, like $100K or something crazy like that.

And it was LOADED with mistakes that no one on the board seemed too worried about.

I guess I'm going to have to start attending these meetings again, sheesh!

Do you actually attend these meetings, as a high school student??

No, not currently, but when I get my car I will probably be at a great majority of them. I want to eventually become a board member for Klein ISD so I can make decisions that I think will help better Klein ISD than it is now. I think you have to be 21 in order to be a canadate

  2. Chris-

Where are you getting your information from?

The PASA report was conducted two years ago already.

Is the district actually going to pay for another one?

I am getting my information from Klein ISD, and yes it was a topic at the Regular Board meeting December 12, 2006. Klein ISD is hiring PASA to do ANOTHER demagraphic study for the Bond Plan in 2008 to determine how many schools to build and when to build them. The study will be held in the Spring of 2007.

  3. I think it would be a great idea for MTV to choose Houston for a season. There are many clubs and hangouts for the cast. plus I'm pretty sure they will find the cast a sweet pad to live in. Houston is a first class city. We should have got a season before Austin did. I think we can get a season here after about 2 more seasons premier. They'll finally decide Houston is a great spot for 7 strangers.

  4. The Klein ISD Board of Trustees approved the purchase of a tract of land for a high school and intermediate school at its November meeting. The 124 acres lie west of the railroad tracks on Spring Cypress Road and east of Windwood Presbyterian Church that is located at 10555 Spring Cypress Road. Funds for this property were approved by voters in the 2004 Bond referendum. The district purchased this tract of land before a new high school and intermediate school are an imminent need because only a limited number of parcels of land large enough for these schools remain within the KISD.

The newly purchased property was formerly owned by Dr. and Mrs. James Jones (78 acres) and Mr. Allen Ulrich (46 acres). The sale of the property was completed to the satisfaction of the owners and the school district.

No. Taxes are frozen for all citizens aged 65 and older who have filed for exemptions.

What if the bond referendum fails?

More portable buildings will be added for classroom instruction. The district will face higher maintenance costs which will impact the funding of instructional programs. The district will have to consider a larger bond referendum in future years.

  8. A Brand new Jack in the Box will be opening in about a month or so on FM 2920 and Falvel, 4 miles EAST from Wal-Mart, Kroger, Chillis ECT. It is right across the street from Citgo Gas Station on Falvel as you come from Klein Collins HS, just turn on FM 2920. They are also building 2 new Shopping Centers around it. FM 2920 is becoming more and more busier everyday.

  9. Starting in January 2007 Joeffrey Jones (Current Assoc. Principal at Klein Oak HS) will be Principal at Hildebrandt Intermediate School since former principal took on the position at Krimmel Int. School (Klein ISDs newest Int. School 07-08). Mr. Jones was an Asst. Principal at Klein Collins HS before being promoted to Assoc. Principal at Klein Oak HS, now being promoted again as principal for the Mustangs at HIS.

  10. For those who tuned in to ABC 13 this morning at 6am might already know, a 49 year old Spring ISD teacher collapsed in the hallway while walking with her kindergarten class this week. The incedent happened at Milton Cooper Elementary School off of Rankin and Imperial Valley Dr. They say she died of a heart attack, but an obtosy is being performed to determine the original cause of the death.

  11. On November 22, 2006 The Real World Denver will come on at 7:00 pm. They have changed the show's night from Tuesdays at 9pm to Wedesdays at 7pm. I like it better on Tuesdays. They have already been showing the preview show. From the previews it seems its going to be a great season.

  12. Klein ISD said they dont plan on building another High School untill 2009 or 2010. I think the location of HS #5 will be on a 136 acre trac of land on the corner of FM 2920 and Huffsmith Kuykendahl. The land was originally owed by a family who took Klein ISD to court over the 136 acres. The land will also house Elementary #27 and Intermediate #10. There was much fuss over the land because of its location. The land could actually be annexed to Tomball ISD according to some people. Klein ISD has already purchased land for Intermediate #9. Intermediate #9 will be located next to Metzler Elementary School in the Augusta Pines Subdivision on the corner of Kuykendahl and West Rayford Rd according to Klein ISD.

  13. For those who don't know about Klein Collins, It opened in 2001 under projected enrollment. Klein Collins was built to relieve Klein Oak which had around at or over 3,000 students. Klein Collins opened with 1,024 students. Now the school's enrollment is 3,175 and expected to rise. KC Administrators are comparing the enrollment to almost meeting Klein and Klein Forest Enrollments which are 3,300 and 3,500. Klein Oak is still at around 2,900 and rising. In between classes at KC, Hallways are very crowded unless you take one of many side hallways. You cant even walk down the hall without being bumped into or bumping into someone else. Not to mention Klein Collins recieved 5 T-Buildings this year for the first time ever for the overcrowding. The traffic is an issue also. KC is located on a 2 laned road (Ella Blvd) along with Schindewolf Intermediate and Kreinhop Elementary Schools. All 3 Schools are very close to each other. During the morning traffic is backed up in front of the school so bad that Spring Cypress is flooded with cars.Favel Rd coming from the back entrance of Normandy Forest is also the worst car to car. Traffic is car to car 5 minutes before the bell rings at 7:31 for 1st period to start. There are only 2 entry/exit ways out of the student parking lot, so you can only imagine what its like after school. Ella Blvd needs to be 4 lanes to accomadate 3 schools. A light also needs to be added at the intersection of Ella and Falvel in front of Schindewolf. Klein Collins is certainly gotten larger and will not get any smaller, therefore the following things need to be added to help the overcrowding issue.

*Add a 4th Lunch for 07/08 school year.

*Add 2 Lanes to Ella Blvd.

*Add Traffic Light directly in front of Schindewolf.

*Add 3rd Exit/Entry to Student Parking Lot.

*Return Bus Service to Normandy Forest.
