  1. Well, I thought it goes without saying that someone carrying should be proficient with their firearm. After all the thing won't ward off evil by itself.
  2. If more residents do, our neighborhood will improve even faster
  3. My wife and I don't sweat the crime enough to move, love the neighborhood, but do take precautions. We've had a friends' home burgled on this side of Main (East) and a friend of a friend robbed at gunpoint on the other side. So, better alarm system in the house, and carry a gun when we walk to dinner (small 9mm, so not much of an inconvenience). Pretty optimistic that the neighborhood will continue to improve with the rampant development.
  4. I hear ya. Did see Jude at the Continental Club last night though, great concert. One guy who can sing and a guitar.
  5. My wife and I toured around inside a month ago. The floorplans are very awkward and inefficient, and some materials are apartment grade. I wouldn't have paid more than $300k-320k for the square footage, appointments, and location. They would be a hard sell even in a strong market. :-(
  6. I was (am) really hoping the hospital near Webster and LaBranch would be built. Seems it would have to contribute significantly to the area's revitalization.
  7. The signs for the physician-owned medical offices have been taken down. Also heard a rumor that this project has been cancelled. Anyone know what's happening?
  8. At least Randalls got their carts back.....
  9. Tim Horton's has ventured into the US, but not very far south of Canada (even though American owned - by Wendy's).
  10. Starbucks site selection process follows an 'Ant Trail' philosophy (that's what Starbucks calls it) where they'll build anywhere there's existing traffic. They'll build 2 across the street from each other if there is sufficient traffic on both sides of the street. Random Funny: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28657
  11. I have always avoided Richmond for the cheesy clubs and especially the cheesy people. Downtown is perfectly safe. Although I prefer Midtown lately for the more chill bars/people and proximity to home. (might be getting old)
  12. I have stumbled wicked-drunk through midtown a couple of nights. It's tempting to over-consume when you can walk home (although it may not be safe...) P.S. Don't own a BMW, am white
  13. Ate there last Sunday afternoon. The staff is very inexperienced and a bit inattentive, but friendly. The onion rings are awesome, the BBQ burger is awesome (maybe b/c it has onion rings on it. The malts are pretty good. The fountain drinks were flat. I would go back, the service has to improve.
  14. Almost forgot... somebody went shopping in my garage for a bicycle! I'm looking forward to some density of a retail, and not transient, variety
  15. Will be - The Collective's shops, High Fashion Furniture, Camden's mixed use shops, development along Elgin.....
