The Travis: Multifamily High-Rise At 3300 Main St.
danielsonr replied to Urbannizer's topic in Midtown
I sure hope there ends up being some type of screening covering those parking levels, but based on a rendering I saw a while back in this thread, I am not going to hold my breath waiting.- 604 replies

It will be interesting to see how the parking podium/ground level retail interacts visually with RO shopping center.

Texas Tower: 47-Story Office Tower At 845 Texas Ave.
danielsonr replied to democide's topic in Downtown
Thanks for all the pics, especially the last one highlighting the notch / tower corner continuation. I think that is a very cool design feature!- 2,216 replies

Yes, that made this quiz particularly difficult! I overlooked this building at first because Google Maps doesn’t reflect the current view. There was actually a clue in this photo that helped to solve it:

I’d rather guess where the Houston/East End murals are. 😁 I’ll find this, though!

I am intrigued as to what is going onto the large white rectangular area of the parking podium. The nighttime rendering of the building from a while back seems to indicate some abstract design - marble, mural, mosaic?

It’s a good looking tower. That hulking parking podium, however, is disappointing in relation to the original shopping center.

Texas Tower: 47-Story Office Tower At 845 Texas Ave.
danielsonr replied to democide's topic in Downtown
It was not previously apparent to me why there were notches (?) in the sides of the parking podium, but this photo shows that they correspond to the corners of the office tower. Very cool (at least to me)!- 2,216 replies

Lol, thanks so much! I would like to thank all the little people who made this possible...

That’s an easy one - Mickey Leland Federal Building. 😏

I knew I had seen this before, but I couldn’t place it at first - 7400 Fannin.
-
Maybe, maybe not. 😎 Seriously, though, I like solving puzzles and I am pretty observant - I guess it’s my engineering background. And I have done quite a bit of exploring around Houston myself, although not on a bicycle.
-
Haha, I figured that out. 😉
-
Thanks, it’s a bit more difficult without a map of your bike route. 😉

Is there an available site plan for the completed campus? I could not find one on this thread or HISD's website. There is a lot of open land after all the building demolitions.
