  1. This project is being developed by Wood Partners and Phillips Development, not Wulfe. Wulfe is leasing the 25,000 SF of retail there.
  2. There should be some press coming out soon about the project announcing fashion tenants and major attractions. On another note, in the next few months we'll start to hear some REALLY interesting things being announced downtown. There seems to be some real momentum building. Downtown in the next year or two is looking like it'll really take off. We'll have to see but right now it's looking that way...
  3. The Humble Building will also see a cool little sneaker boutique opening on Polk and Main in a few months. They'll be the first street fashion retail to open downtown in years (unless you count Jos A Bank)
  4. September 15th is apparently the day to break ground. It's changed a few times but that's the current date.
  5. A large bookstore downtown we might see very soon my friends...very soon
  6. There might be some hope with this particular CVS. We'll have to see but they could end up orienting it more towards Main St. As for momentum in Midtown, I kind of agree but time will tell. While the hype is pretty much gone, the area could see some cool projects in the near future.
  7. Are you serious?!!! On an architecture forum and that's what you have to say about contemporary design? That brick design is pseudo-architecture. It's trite, uninspired, mundane, and is a fake-historic representation of something else. It's just as inspired as Perry Homes or CVS.
  8. It'll be mixed use and the retail will be significant. This project along with Blvd Place are really going to change the way Houston builds urban projects. By the way, what would you guys like to see there?
  9. these projects are slow and methodical. the denver pavilions had the same type of reaction by the community before they broke ground. this project seems to be moving ahead quite steadily. and, you didn't hear it from me but that book store you're talking about... it might just be there. and, many of us are going to be excited by news surfacing about this project in the next couple of months. be patient guys things aren't looking that bad
  10. Once the renderings hit the media this project will gain national attention, I believe. Ed really outdid himself with a beautiful project.
  11. firstngoal, I was there tonight. I agree with you - I thought the architects and Guy Hagstette did a great job explaining the different features. The many facets of the park make sense together and will combine to become what I believe will be a truly premier city park. I find it amusing that people on this forum get so upset over much needed piece of green space. I laugh that they have the time to complain about little things like a putting green.
  12. I couldn't help but write a letter to the email address given on their website. info@incarnateword.org What a great opportunity they are missing
  13. If you guys are so interested in rail, write letters. Metro keeps hearing from all those that oppose it. http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif2/...pic=5103&st=250
  14. this is what will replace Ruchi's. I'm just hoping Jamaica, Jamaica makes a come-back....
  15. Yes, there will be retail there and supposedly the design will be worthy of acclaim. Hines is developing the garage so it should be at least halfway decent.
  16. Both are going to be incredible. It's going to be a race to see who completes the first, large scale, urban mixed-use project first. It looks like Kirby/Westheimer and Houston Pavilions will be built first followed by Trademark and Boulevard Place. Our city is going through a rapid transformation over the next 3 years. Hopefully all this building won't be too gluttonous!
  17. The park WILL actually be roughly 12 acres Did any of you complaining about the park actually go to the focus sessions? There were a lot of concerns raised and I thought the committee did a fantastic job explaining the different features and how they will relate. If you guys were so passionate about this park looking a certain way, why did you not voice your opinions at the meetings when the designers were actually listening?.
  18. If you've ever read any of the articles that were written before Millennium Park opened, the same criticism ran rampant. Now where are those articles? Yes, the money could go to infant orphans in Afghanistan in need of prenatal care, but it won't. This park will be a HUGE asset to downtown's revitalization and should be welcomed.
  19. Man, after watching last night, I think we should look hard at this little guy named Vincent Young... If he declares, let the Vincanity begin!!!
