  1. Chilis, subway petsmart.. keep em coming. These are like little castles compared to the deserted warehouses and waste that have been sitting in that location for years . I know that central market and similar companies would be better but hell we cant have everything. We can keep our fingers crossed though.
  2. The plan was always for a regular target with an expanded grocery section, not a super target. It has a coffee place up front (starbucks). Like all other targets it serves the function of convenience. It seems maybe some of the visitors to this target were expecting a different store. It is built like any other target. I live in the heights and use it for the function it serves. This is for kitchen and bathroom items that I can easily run over to target and get at fair prices. The expanded grocery section allows me to get OJ, milk, bread or other items that I run out of. It definitely is more convenient than any other place in the vicinity. Overall this is a plus for the neighborhood. On another note the demolition of the old warehouse on the north side of Sawyer heights is complete. As soon as the torn down material is trucked away the progress for the heights can continue. Also, the new bank on the property is coming along just fine. It will be a fine building!
  3. Along with the old buildings the old characters will go. This is just more signs of change.
  4. Just went shopping there. They have an expanded food section which covers most necessities but there is no meat or produce section. Since I was there I picked up sald dressing, frozen broccoli, dishwasher fluid and an eight pack of white castle burgers. Ohh yeahh the landscaping on sawyer Taylor is complete.
  5. I went by target after work. The parking lot was full. The store was open to those with invitations only. I was able to walk partially into the target. There was a guard there asking for invitations. He said that the store would be open tomorrow morning at 8am. Walking out of the target I was able to get a new perspective of the property that was not available by just doing a drive by. That piece of crap property that used to be there has really come a long way. The place just has a load of potential. Hats off to the planners of this project.
  6. You have a point there. I hope the surrounding lease stores come out better than that new strip mall that was built on sheperd and 11th. That place had promise but ended up being a matress store and a check cashing store. Big Whoop
  7. This would be great. Unfortunately this location has been planned from the start as a "future lease space." On a more happy note though, according to the property commerce website, there is going to be an independent Starbuck's.
  8. I was able to look inside today. The store is complete. About half of the shelelves are stocked.
  9. I drove by today and noticed that a new structure is being built attached on to the completed target on the north side. Also a large section of land is being prepared for foundation on the northeast section of the shopping mall site. I didn't see any signs as to what they are going to be though.
  10. The road is now being filled in up to washington. Is there a predicted increase in the surrounding properties as soon as the mall is completed?
