  1. FYI: There is a small Vietnamese restaurant on Barker Cypress @ Queenston that serves pho. I think it's called Mekong Grill.
  2. They'd better start building that elementary school soon. Warner Elementary (where Bridgeland is now now zoned) opens in a few days and it already has 4 portable buildings! I've heard it is already 200 students over capacity. Unbelievable.
  3. I am interested in the community of Lakes of Fairhaven, which has no MUD taxes. The problem is I don't know what that means. Of course, I know that there isn't a MUD and one of the pros is that there are no MUD taxes. But, there's got to be a bunch of cons, right? Last summer when I visited one of the home builders in there, the sales lady said that instead of individual septic for each house, there was something else. Her vague explanation wasn't clear to me -- and since I'm ignorant about MUD and septic stuff and wasn't that serious about buying a new house at the time, I didn't press with any questions. Anyway, now I'm interested again and need some information before visiting the sales people again. Please, can anyone explain some of the pros and cons of living in a community with no MUD? And what else is there, if not a MUD nor septic system??? Thank you.
  4. How funny that I caught this post. I just discovered Lily Allen on iTunes the other night and decided to buy her CD from Amazon, which I am waiting on now. I hope the whole album is as good as the samples I heard on iTunes. It's too bad I didn't learn about her performance tomorrow earlier. I would've made plans to check it out. What do you think of her music?
  5. It was funny, but I don't think it was real. A funny act.
  6. I know what you mean. My geraniums are thriving. A pleasant surprise.
  7. I haven't had an extremely awkward moment at work, but this happened to a good friend of mine. She was talking with a male client about the project they were working on together. And at the end of the conversation, right before she hangs up with him, she says "I love you." I'm sure you all can relate to this automatic instinctive three-word sentence to your loved ones at the end of your phone conversation. It was hilarious! To this day, when I think about it, I laugh out loud.
  8. Is it an easy process? Does it cost anything? Do you really need a lawyer to get it done? Any info is greatly appreciated.
  9. In about a year or so (as it becomes more developed) - you should be able to get good pictures of Bridgeland, too.
  10. This enforces my inclination to stay away from businesses that choose to advertise with the Christian fish symbol.
  11. Though I haven't smoked a cigarette in about 7 years, I still have an affinity with smokers. I don't care to stand too close to them, but I sympathize with them.
  12. I would like to see a curbside recycling program implemented in our subdivision in the Northwest area (Cy-Fair). Can anyone here give me some information? I've been told by someone at our MUD that it would cost about $5 more per month, per address. But I find that hard to believe. There's got to be a large initial cost, right? Are there any state or federal grants for recycling initiations? Please, if you have info or advice on getting a recycling program started - I would appreciate it!
  13. Have you been to a Vietnamese wedding ceremony or reception? If yes, tell me about your experience and thoughts on it. If fact, it doesn't even have to be Vietnamese. If you've been to any Eastern ceromonies/receptions - chime in.
  14. why are postings always just '...'? someone, please, tell me what this means?
