I worked in the CATV , CCTV, MATV, SMATV, MDU business and we too had Storer cable in meyerland in the 80's. They had board members/influencers with a lot of power, in Bellaire and Houston city council. I'm pretty sure that some charges or law suits were filed about corruption within the city's first choice. The first CATV system that I know of was in Bryan/college station area in the 1950's. A Texas A&M professor , Steve Berkoff, wrote a book "Wireless cable and SMATV" which was the industry standard for CATV , MATV and others. My dad grew up in Bryan and remembers having CATV in early to mid 1950's
