Considering that post was written in June (8 months ago!!), Katy is just suburban sprawl on a flat prairie. Just not my thing I guess.- 122 replies

Vintage Park Shopping Village Developments
Mom22Blessings replied to mrfootball's topic in The Great Northwest
Randalls is different than Kroger and HEBin that respect. There is only one add for all Tom Thumb/Randalls while Kroger and HEB ads vary area to area. At one time I was getting 2 different HEB ads and 2 different Kroger ads in the mail. One was from the Tomball area in the mail and the other was from The Woodlands area in the paper. I know Randalls have the same price points because I shop there with a list from the Grocery Game website/coupons and the list is for all TT/Randalls stores.- 536 replies

blacks will never predominate around conroe or TW. I know for a fact conroe has a bad rep for that kind of thing. There are very successful ones but they will never predominate.- 27 replies

We don't currently live in The Woodlands (right next to) but we are in the same Boy Scout district. My son is a Cub Scouts and they are primarily done by school to keep the boys together. I know Awana is done by churches. We do meet a church though. They don't have anything to do with the running of the Boy Scouts.

Opinions On Elementary Schools In The Woodlands
Mom22Blessings replied to MrsCroxy's topic in Points North
Yeah I'm sure there are. There are probably some parents who are so busy they don't have time for their kids. I was just saying that the reasons the schools are rated so good isn't because of people not getting involved with their kid's education. -
Opinions On Elementary Schools In The Woodlands
Mom22Blessings replied to MrsCroxy's topic in Points North
I am going to be a teacher. I can tell you that the majority of the reasons these schools are good is because of parental support. No teacher can do their job if the parents don't do their part. I don't know where you live but from what I've seen and heard from friends who are teachers in TW, your "stop and drop" remark is way off based with the schools here. -

Local School District Superintendents' Salaries
Mom22Blessings replied to Chris's topic in The Great Northwest
From CFISD website: <<A teacher with a masters degree will receive a $1,000 supplement to the base schedule at the appropriate experience level. A teacher with a doctorate will receive a $2,000 supplement to the base schedule at the appropriate experience level.>> So...time in grade affects your pay more than a degree. If you stopped teaching for two years (or just went on to get your Masters) you would be forgoing around 40K a year plus the cost of school. So you would be at least 85K-90K behind just to gain 2K a year. And it's Doctorate...unless you are studying Theology..... -

Bridgeland Will Bring 65,000 Residents To Northwest Area
Mom22Blessings replied to mrfootball's topic in The Great Northwest
Yeah when I visit friends in Cypress I can always tell how old the nighborhood is by the heigth of the 2 or 3 trees transplanted into the front yard. And there are natural trees in Sugarland. My aunt lives in Greatwood and they have a ton of trees. My grandparents live down the road in Richmond and they have a good 20 trees on their lot.- 122 replies
