  1. Bad math produced this: "What I'm looking for is the exact location of Humble's OST (Old Spanish Trail) Camp in Houston. I lived there in 1953-54 and attended Wakely JHS. " Actually, I lived in the OST Camp 1951-52.
  2. Better late than never, I suppose. There were two Humble camps in the Monroe City area. One was the "Gas Camp", associated with the gas plant. It was out in the rice fields, a mile or two away from the "Big Camp", which was very close to Monroe City. The Big Camp is still visible from the old entrance, which is now closed. My family lived at the Gas Camp for about three years, and at the Big Camp for one year. I attended Anahuac Jr. High (grades 7-8, 1952-54) and Anahuac High School (grades 9-10, 1954-56). Check out the Wright family listing in "Monroe City The Town Oil Built". I bought my copy of that book at the Anahuac Public Library several years ago while passing through the area. What I'm looking for is the exact location of Humble's OST (Old Spanish Trail) Camp in Houston. I lived there in 1953-54 and attended Wakely JHS. It was a pretty small camp, with just a single row of about 10 houses, a recreation hall, and the Humble office where my father worked.
