Looking out over this project now, I still don't see any activity. Any timeline when we can expect something? I thought I read October (maybe from you), but the memory ain't what it used to be.
And you probably won’t see any activity.

2023 Bump. I haven't seen any TDLR TABS filings or building permit apps. As Urbannizer noted above, this is no longer on Medistar's website. I'm not taking the time to check HCAD. Anybody got anything?
I knew this wasn’t going to happen.

Since I can't edit - I checked the radar loop. Small thunderstorm on the northeastern edge of Trinity Bay, straddling the Chambers/Liberty county line. Not bad for a "popcorn" thunderstorm near dusk. Golden hour making everything look good.
God is amazing.

I like the lighting but it does seem to be bright. There was some cool blue and green lighting on a medical office building in the theater district. I wonder if it’s still on.

When does phase 2 break ground?
There’s a phase 2? Where will it go?

It is kinda sad that Houston hasn't built a supertall in like 40 years.
Quite sad, and doesn’t look like it’ll happen anytime soon.

I hope not. It’s another boring box.

The middle portion is being covered with that yellow material, so it may not be all glass like in the rendering.
Never mind, the glass is covering the yellow.

^^^ i wholeheartedly concur. from the very moment that i first laid eyes upon the initial rendering/concept of the X HOUSTON... i was stunned. IMO, this particular design was simply perfect for the museum district with its eclectic and very contemporary all-glass middle portion... along with the aforementioned LED lighting effect delineating the upper and bottom sections.
i would be completely SHOCKED if they decide to skimp on the LED design effect. this particular design adds a bit of life and momentum to the overall edifice itself. not to mention, that LED lighting design seems to somehow compliment the museum district with its uniqueness and modern style.
oh, and by the way @aachor you now have me HOOKED on the term "delineating"... well played...

I would be surprised if this happens.

This building has cool neon lights on it at night. Did they turn it off?

It’s already a top-heavy, awkward-looking building, but what’s up with those small windows? Looks like a prison.

So... no 58 story building?
I’m surprised you thought this would happen. Houston doesn’t build buildings this tall anymore. I knew it wasn’t going to happen when buzz about this came out.

Will this building have its own parking garage or will they have to share the one next door? Is this building touching the garage? If not, it's interesting how they build it inches apart.

With all DUE respect, this chain of corrections has been quite entertaining.

Come on y'all, they're not building this.

Do you all really think this is going to happen?

Hopefully the tower will not get shorter and shorter until the project completely disappears.

Oh come on. No matter the number of renderings, this thing is not getting built.
