  1. My insurance would have preferred this were a Walgreens, but c'est la vie.
  2. That's one of the most insane things I've ever heard. "Don't do some of it because we can't do all of it, and also please never walk your dog at night." Sure, okay. I'm willing to start harassing people over this, if I know who to harass. If it's park rules that apply, is it Houston Parks & Rec that's the sticking point?
  3. Does anyone know if there's ever been any discussion of getting lighting on the Columbia Tap Trail? At this point, with the traffic it receives, it seems like a no-brainer. Jogging or riding it after dark still feels a little touch-and-go. Who would even be the agency responsible for getting it done?
  4. I said "great use of tax dollars" lol
  5. Libertarian ideals always go out the door when it comes time to charge the tax man instead of paying him. That said, I couldn't care less. It's a great use of tax dollars, and whatever costume we have to put on it to get it over the finish line is fine by me.
  6. Ah, inside the garage. That makes more sense, thanks! And wow, I'd really forgotten how bad that building looked before they got started.
  7. Am I the only one trying to figure out where a drive-thru goes on this building?
  8. I heard through the grapevine that they're planning for a space on Live Oak that fronts the tap trail. If that info is correct, my guess would be 905 or 908 Live Oak. And I'll add my $0.02 to the hat and concur that their beer is great. They focus on Sours and Belgians, but they have a pretty wide selection. And the guys that run it are great too.
  9. I'm just sitting here wondering where in that area you're supposed to get a clear view to the horizon
  10. Okay but that's not like a real thing that will happen, so it's not a fear I feel like I should have to take seriously lol
  11. As someone who's newly a worker in one of those coworking spaces: yes.
  12. No shade but that slogan design couldn't possibly look more like it belongs to a wholesale grocery chain
  13. Thoughts of a pedestrian/light-rail only stretch of Elgin/Westheimer between 59 and Shepherd... ... a boy can dream
  14. Counterpoint, this is because suits are expensive and uncomfortable, and are and always have been dumb.
  15. In my book, the Texas HSR is vastly more necessary and valuable as an example than it will be as a direct benefit to the travelers of Texas, though the benefits there are huge as well. We desperately need a modern high speed rail SOMEWHERE in this country to get built and show people it can be successful, and that might as well be here in Texas. Speaking for me personally, I travel to Dallas a few times a year and I hate - HATE - that drive. Something about it is just awful to me in a way that going to Austin or San Antonio isn't. Now that Southwest's prices aren't as competitive as they once were, and with airport shenanigans shaving off basically all the time saved by not driving, I know I would be seriously considering taking the HSR if it were an option.
