  1. From the article: Regarding Post Oak Central, Freels said, “We see incredible potential in the iconic property. This deal activates and accelerates our plans, and we look forward to reimagining Post Oak Central for the next generation.” It’s the buildings that make the property iconic. Without them it’s just valuable. Edited to add: If they do tear them down, I’m never coming back to Houston.
  2. Looks like the plywood is gone. Is it finished??? What’s it been… like twelve years now, or something? Feels like it.
  3. Oh great. Another giant Mold-A-Rama “sculpture” (https://moldville.arcade-museum.com/45--humble-oil-building.html) from David Adickes. I know this is simply my opinion and apparently not held by most, but his stuff is an embarrassment to Houston.
  4. Someone heard you because the text has been changed to: The 150-seat restaurant will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and is slated to be on the ground-floor level with a patio area, offering plenty of people-watching opportunities.
  5. That nice paving and landscaping in the bottom right corner caught my eye so I zoomed in to get a better look and noticed the flood gauge. "Nothing to see here folks!" said the realtor to the prospective buyers. 😬
  6. That reminds me that the old River Oaks Chrysler-Plymouth (or whatever it’s called now) dealership has been on Kirby just south of 59 forever so I guess it’s really not a new thing.
  7. I have enough trouble with Galleria/Post Oak being called "Uptown." Calling Westheimer at 610 "River Oaks" is just ridiculous. And the developers are Houston-based so they know better.
  8. It never occurred to me until just now that the top of the apartment building sort of refers to the top of the Hess Tower.
  9. I can't decide if it's weirdly appropriate or weirdly inappropriate that the portable toilet company used at the demolition site of an antiques store is "Heritage."
  10. I stay with friends on Yupon Street when I’m in town. Some of these photos were taken while flying the drone out of their back yard.
  11. Did I miss something? I thought this was just the first phase and the other towers would follow at some point. I also think the tower, as seen in cityliving’s photo below, is a lot nicer than I expected when the revised version was first announced. Except for that asymmetric balcony thing.
  12. Looks like that photo went away when I replaced it on Flickr. Here it is again.
  13. I’m still relatively new with the drone part. Not so new with the photographing and post-processing part. DJI Mavic Air 2. I chose it because at the time it had (I think) the highest camera resolution (48 megapixels) for the money AND the drone is smart enough to prevent me from crashing or losing it. The Mavic Air 3 has a better camera and probably more bells and whistles, but it’s also pricier.
  14. Yep. I'll help if I can... I'm still relatively new at this.
  15. My first thought was FLW. It sort of has a Robie House meets Meyerland après déluge look to it.
  16. I’m kind of surprised by all this. After years and years and years I just assumed there must be a city ordinance prohibiting any improvements whatsoever to that part of Westheimer.
