My gut feeling is that even if this place opens, it will not stay in business for too long. There is a lot great food in the area for a reasonable price. Corkys is overprice and not even authentic Texas BBQ. Sad to say this about a business coming to my hood.
When I am right, I am right.
I was talking about when the place supposed to be Corkys, but the principal stands. Also, the owner was a big MAGA fanboy so not sad at all. Karma.

most of the recent photos have been on the East side of this development following the golf course, but I was shocked driving by the West side on Jensen at how much dirt is moving around on that side.
this thing is definitely gathering steam and moving ahead at speed.
It was about time. At this rate, it will be finish once I retire. lol

That's smart on their part. Think of all the extra money they'd make by charging for parking for sporting events/concerts.
I wasn't a big fan of the delapataded buildings there tbh.
As long as parking comes with better lighting for the area, I am all for it! That is the most sketchy part of the walk home after enjoying an Astros/Dynamo game.

What a loser.
UH made one mistake with their stadium. It should had been next to I-45. It would had been such a big statement for UH and Houston.

PM, or typo?
My bad. It should read AM instead of PM. Thank you for the catch.

Why are there so many Federal Grills? I've never been impressed.
The Trumpers got to eat somewhere I suppose. I went to the one in Rice Military several years back. It was empty and the food was bland and overpriced. Never went back and that was before the shenanigans from below.

Houston East End Chamber appears to have accidentally shared some confidential information about potential retail tenants on their Facebook post related to the groundbreaking... see third image on linked post below

Some of these tenants have been known for awhile. There was a file on the Midway site that appeared to have been uploaded by accident. It is somewhere in this tread probably towards the beginning of the year.

This morning I saw a big tent and what appeared to be catering trucks. Groundbreaking, maybe?

Does anyone know what is the reason for Rooftop Cinema stopping movie screenings?
I guess Rooftop wont be coming back to this location.
"Sad news for fans of the cinema club’s buzzy drive-in movie experience, The Drive-In off Navigation. “We’re sad to say that due to complications with city permitting, we aren’t able to re-open this venue,” the email notes."

I also think that affordable housing should be spread equitably throughout the city.
Exactly my point! The Heights have been successfully fighting affordable housing. Karla Cisneros sure loves putting these type of projects in the East End, but fight them off in her neighborhood in the Heights.

10 million grant to accelerate 3 BBP projects. Potentially taking shape within 2-3 years.
-Tony Marron Park
-Japhet Creek
-a wharf at Turkey Bend
BBP will launch a capital campaign next year to raise additional funds to turn these projects into "signature destinations". The grant also includes money for bayou bank stabilization and trail repairs along the bayou.
Tony Marron Park will grown from 19 to 40 acres after BBP acquired some additional land.
BBP expects the east side development to cost $300M and take shape over 20 years. $17M has been raised so far, including the new $10M.

Is HAIF in the business of cancelling folks based on social media now?
Sound like someone is afraid of the free market? And here I am thinking that we are capitalist society. I guess it is only when it is convenient.

Is this for the Oso coffee shop? If so, isn’t that the same family as Doña Maria?
What’s wrong with these people? Do they think people taking it seriously are doing just for fun? I guess pretty soon there won’t be a place to support on Navigation.

People are entitled to their opinion, even if many here may disagree. If Bruce's posts offend you, I got some really bad news for you about the owner of Roostar...
Let's just be happy that people keep their politics and their shop separate, and leave it at that.
You are 💯 correct that people are entitled to their opinion, but I am entitled to decide how and where I spend my money. It is a two way street.
If you can enlighten me about Roostar, I will appreciate it. Not familiar with the ownership.- 4

Greyhound & Autobuses Americanos | 7000 Harrisburg Blvd
in EaDo, the East End, and East Houston

Different crowd using those other bus services in the area. There is some customer base overlap with Greyhound, but not much.
