My first thought for a Pearl a la Houston would be the coffee plant, but honestly it might not be big enough. Surely these large industrial users in the East End will start to fall and someone will go big.

When thinking of the Pearl in San Antonio I think the best location for recreating that historical setting would be Imperial in Sugar Land. You definitely lose the proximity to downtown but just a couple of cents to throw in the pile.

@HNathoo Is correct, Madison Marquette no longer owns the site. It’s possible they filed for a demolition permit before the sale.

PMRG built 2929 Wesleyan, purchased this site and built The Travis before merging with Madison Marquette.

Now that Skanska has control of this land I expect them to partner with a different architect- therefore a new design.

Excited for Skanska’s involvement with the project after seeing their recent activity level. Bank of America tower and the 1550 on the green render both look nice for downtown. Interesting to think what their approach would be for a neighborhood development that can accommodate so much culture and diversity.

  4. It was a great experience visiting the park, I am excited for the Land Bridge and further improvements. Somewhat off topic but I only wish that Uptown had a smaller city park within as well as bordering Memorial Park. Great addition to Memorial Park though, I feel that this is now the heart of the park so to speak.
