Mykawa Road Pfarm……...I grew up on Deldart street. Rode my bike right past the Pfarm going to and from baseball games at the Southeast Little League baseball complex back in the 60s. Used to see the chain gangs working the crops all the time. Once in a while an inmate would get loose and show up in front yards while we neighborhood boys were playing ball. They would only want to rest and get a drink from the hose. They would really "spin some yarns" before the guards would come and haul them back to the Pfarm. Whenever Dad heard the dogs backing at night he would put his pistol in his pocket and go out with a flashlight to investigate. We never had any problems with escapees though. We rode "Honda Hill" on bikes until we got Honda 90s...then we tore it up. The hill was best after a good rain when we would slide down the 40 ft. mud rut and into the small lake on the north side. I remember a couple of times when the huge field between the P farm and Vasser rd. burned and field rats were everywhere. It was "rats for everyone" for all the neighborhood boys. Well killed rats with BB and pellet guns for a whole week each time the field burned.
