  1. I would hope Chevron doesn't follow suit and move out to the suburbs. I know of several angry people who work/worked for Exxon and were living in the Pearland-Clear Lake area at the time who just saw 60 miles in peak traffic added to their daily commute. If they end up doing that I hope they at least have the sense to find some land closer in that is more easily accessible by commuters who aren't fortunate enough to live in far far north Houston.

If they truly compete with Exxon or Shell for talent, it would make sense to have that option to recruit workers who want to work for a great company but either want to live in the city or don't want to move to the Woodlands.

  2. Just for fun...  If the building was going to be 832 feet with 50 stories, assuming the same average height per floor and adding 10 additional stories would give us a total height of 998.4 feet = 304 meters = supertall.

Now all they need is a large antenna to attach to the top and voila! New tallest in the city.

  3. Wtf!? Wow so now we got the new residential tower in south downtown, the new convention center hotel, and now this, and we can def expect a tower on the Macys site and Houston Club site in the next couple of yrs. Our skyline is not going to be the same! Plus with added residential Houston is going to have the bustling, retail filled downtown we've been wanting! PROUD TO BE FROM H-TOWN!

Not to be a downer but our skyline probably will be the same. It's going to take something pretty bold/pointy and away from the main cluster of massive buildings to make a big visual change on the skyline. But as long as things keep happening, shine on!

  4. the new tower will be 1.3M sf, but there will be some infill in the area between 1500 Louisiana and the new tower that bumps up the total.

So assuming the typical 25k sf floorplate, that brings it to about 52 floors. It could be higher if they decided to make some of the upper floors smaller or put a crown on it. Do you know anything about the details?

Does anyone know how to make a panorama? I was going to try to make one with the second and third Uptown pictures but I dont know how.

  6. Here are my pictures of the Houston skyline. I love this city and its skyline and over the past several years have accumulated many pictures of it.

This topic is intended to showcase our many beautiful skylines from a distance. Please dont confuse it with the favorite skyline angle topic.
