    ARCHITECT:

    INFORMATION:

4-story 104,491 SF building that will include 60 shelter units on levels 3 and 4.  The project also includes commercial grade food preparation, dish washing and serving facilities.

Don't let the renderings fool you, there is not an outdoor terrace.  That's actually just going to be a roof with screened in mechanical equipment on top.

This shelter looks nicer than most Montrose apartments.

That's a shame. An equinox in this or general location would do wonders. The one in ROD is at the corner of traffic and rush hour. So many people want to join but hate the location (that live in Montrose/Midtown).

I’m an Equinox member and live in Montrose. My commute during evening rush hour is usually 15 minutes there, 10 minutes to get back.

haha i know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is crazy to see the old plaza and kroger lot just sitting there empty...i know it takes time to do things but good grief!!!

It’s funny because I have a family member that just moved to Houston from out of state. He’s house hunting within the loop. I tried to sell him on Montrose (my top choice), but it’s hard to get him excited about it when it currently looks so blah. He decided to buy elsewhere.

Hallelujah! I almost got mugged at that gas station while filling up once. Do we know what it’ll be?

  5. Is this rendering “final final”? I feel like with how low the stock market is today compared to what it was when disco Kroger was demolished last year, they should just wait it out for a market rebound instead of settling for this mediocre rendering.  Same logic for why a lot of tech start ups are holding off on IPOs this year.

The first one is Audio Video Plus, which, I guess ClutchCity94 hasn't lived in Montrose that long. It's never been pretty, but it hasn't been vacant *that* long. The real mystery is how it stayed open as long as it did.

    The third one is Mark's/March.

I think the whole topic is over-stated at best. EADO still has a ton of vacant land, and two of the examples given for Montrose (Disco Kroger and the Tower Community Center) were torn down with the intention of replacing them.

Now, if Skanska never does anything with the Tower block, that's a different story.

Not my post; I just came across it on Reddit and found it interesting.
