Based off his blogs, tweets, and news/media interviews, he has very strong negative opinion of METRO and public transit. If the rumors are true, it could be a very sad few years for METRO and the future of transit in this city could be in limbo.
Well that answers that. If there’s ANY disinterest in public transportation development at the highest levels in this city, that means it ain’t happening.

I think we need to pray the University Line get's built. Last I heard Whitmire might appoint Bill King as Metro chair. We already know politicians can derail anything regardless if voters approved $3.5 Billion in transit expansion.
Not familiar with Bill King. Is he from the Culberson school of thought?

Properties close to stops will be objectively more valuable. Not sure what the impact will be for properties that are currently close to a #25 stop, but will be further from a BRT stop, but my guess is that the effect of the higher-order transit would outweigh the loss of a local service bus stop.
Do we know the confirmed cross streets along Richmond that will have stops?

How will real estate prices be affected on Richmond once the University Line gets built? I know many people say “it’s already priced in”, but they’ve been talking about this line for 20 years.

Temporary banner sign for the upcoming Xiao Long Dumpling - Neighborhood Sichuan Bistro. Which is from Las Vegas.
Sichuan cuisine is SO overdone in Montrose. Give me a casual Indian spot instead!

I'm surprised the developer didn't lean into the Disco Kroger theme. It's hard to differentiate these cookie cutter apartment buildings but this was a layup
Good have named it “The Diskro”

This parking lot is one of the worst inside the loop for sure. I think the revolving door on the end cap restaurant space supports that idea.
What makes it the worst?

Wouldn’t mind seeing this strip demolished and started over to be honest…any chance of that happening?

It was packed last night at around 9:30pm when I drove by. Is it open to the public already? My guess is that may have been a friends and family night.

They should photograph from the opposite angle showing the 59 on-ramp!

Went around 2:30. There was almost nothing grocery-wise, but a lot of wine left - and it was now 50% off as well.
Wine was 30% off on Saturday. Did they change it to 50% off?

This is assuredly the case. I saw a master plan for the Menil 8 or 9 years ago and there are several other dense developments planned. Obviously plans change but the folks at the Menil are not going to short change their patrons, benefactors, and community.
I can’t wait for them to build something facing Richmond Ave. That fenced off area kills my vibe since I live a block south of Richmond and could otherwise easily walk to the Menil.

How awesome would it be if Aga’s opened a takeout only Montrose outlet?!
Montrose has no viable Indo-Pak options.

Amazing that this group can do a garage and the Menil hotel is going to go with two surface lots.
My guess is that the Menil Foundation has other longer term plans for the surface lot, so they don’t want to build a more “permanent” parking garage. Just a hunch.

I wonder if that industrial looking lot across the street from this hotel is going to stay.

Why did Gap leave?
Because it’s not 1997 anymore. 😀

I might have missed this somewhere, but lululemon is coming to the former Gap location (corner spot) - saw the sign for it as I drove by this evening
They must feel threatened by Vuori! Which, in my opinion, is the superior brand.

At this point, is it safe to say this development was a flop? Five years ago, I remember how excited everyone was about this. Now, it’s rarely talked about.

What’s happening at this site?

Any update on what this building may become? Such a great location and hate to see it vacant.

Do we know what Menil has in store for the empty lot along Richmond between Loretto and Yupon?
I know a boutique hotel will be on the northwest corner of this lot, but how about the rest?
