  2. Churches are a dead give away for people to know you are in a mostly black neighborhood. Ever notice how many churches are in mostly black neighborhoods?

  4. This is a case where the lunatics have taken over the assylum. The Houston City Council is no more than a 3 Ring Circus and Bill White is the head CLOWN!!!!!
  5. You are correct i am not a smoker. When i have entered bars i have noticed that half if not most of the patrons are smokers. Some people that dont smoke regularly will have a smoke when they enter a bar. It doesnt offend me one bit, and I dont believe in damning thier rights to hell to appease some jackassed group of legislating idiots, especially in our CAPITALIST SOCIETY. If they are so damned concerned about smoking in bars, do the proper thing and encourage entrepenuers to establish non smoking bars and leave the others alone. Im not big on over legislation and big government in any way shape or form, and this is yet another act that puts government into the lives of private citizens. This BS legislation, as i read it, also extends to private clubs/bars. IN_FREAKIN'_SANITY !!!!!!!
  6. Yeah im about as proud of this ban as i am of a survivorless plane crash! The ban is STUPID!
  7. Those aboned buildings look like they belong in Scooby Doo. Wheres the Mystery Machine?
  8. Again this smoking ban is STUPID. This is a capitalist society! How about supporting capitalism by encouraging entrepenuers that are against smoking to open up smoke free bars instead of stifling capitalism by creating these STUPID AND RIDICULOUS ordinances!!!! that would be a great exercise in protection of person freedoms instead of these BS ordinances that serve no purpose other than to piss me off and piss off other freedom loving individuals!
  9. I wonder how many of those council members that voted for this ban are in thier last term and cannot run anymore? That would be interesting.
  10. The smoking ban is stupid today yesterday and will be tomorrow. Its not hurting the business, if it were, they wouldnt be so damn crowded!!!!! This is Texas and i used to say it is the last free state in the Union. Now it seems, atleast in the large cities, on a trend to fast track the removal of personal freedoms. Following the donkey ass of the rest of the country straight to the chains of oppression!!!!!!!!
  11. You are forever stuck on stupid. I dont smoke, jackass! I also dont like the constant errosion of personal freedoms because i know where that is heading and it isnt a good place. Start with something like this that many people can rally around and it will get them used to giving up freedoms. You probably are unable to see that because it hasnt been told to you by a reporter........AMAZING
  12. The entire smoking ban needs to placed in the garbage with the very dumb jackasses in positions of power that have supported it.
  13. Dont know but in the case of Houston i think they are better than the all concrete buildings when it comes to damage created by wind. The glass panels are a lot easier to replace than replacing missing or damage concrete chunks or stone chunks.
  14. FRIDAY, Sept. 8 (HealthDay News) -- Patient trust of doctors is highest in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Boston, Denver and Philadelphia, according to a new survey. The survey of 41,148 people also found that doctors in all the nation's 20 largest cities scored higher than doctors in rural areas in terms of trust, whether the patient would recommend the doctor, and other indicators of patient satisfaction. The results were released by the health-care ratings organization HealthGrades. In the 20 cities, an average of 66.2 percent of patients said they "definitely, yes" trusted their doctors to make decisions/recommendations in their best interests, compared to an average of 61.1 percent in rural areas. Here are the results for the 20 cities: Houston (70 percent); Dallas-Fort Worth (69.2 percent); Boston (68.2 percent); Denver (67.9 percent); Philadelphia (67.8 percent); Chicago (67.7 percent); Miami (67.4 percent); Washington, D.C.-Baltimore (67.3 percent); Seattle (66.7 percent); New York (66.4 percent); Detroit (66.3 percent); Cleveland (66.2 percent); Phoenix (64.9 percent); St. Louis (64.5 percent); Tampa-St. Petersburg (64.4 percent); San Diego (64.2 percent); Los Angeles (63.4 percent); Orlando (62.7 percent); Atlanta (62.6 percent); San Francisco (62.1 percent.................... http://news.yahoo.com/s/hsn/20060908/hl_hs...HNlYwNtZW5ld3M-
  15. There are 2 Texas stores in the Galleria. They are located on opposite ends of the mall from each other. They sell all things Texas, including all types of Texas post cards.
  16. They can have underground parking. I wonder if companies that build tall or super tall buildings ever considered having a mixed use building. Offices and apartments/condos for workers or whomever........
  17. Tell me you are not serious? The current flag for Texas represents the state, not the republic.......... The Confederate flag was never design to represent one particular state and it is not used as a symbol of any one particular state. It used as a symbol to represent a DEAD nation that is not the picture of the United States. Never has been and never will be.
  18. I dont have any issue with the names of those schools. I do take issue with the Confederate flag. It is a foreign flag, of a short lived dead nation and should not be flown with honor as would the American flag.
