  1. If this was actually purchased by Tilman, I do think this will be where they put the new practice facility. Interesting use of the property and I would obviously much prefer an HEB but it makes sense as it's fairly close to Toyota Center, big enough to get creative and most likely cheaper than a lot of other surrounding areas. This tweet leads me to believe something is in the works. Not necessarily at this location but somewhere. https://twitter.com/FeliciaPStone/status/1487854877527232520?s=20&t=hpLjBYrGfrT64NJxloB5lQ This is the wife of the GM of the Rockets responding to a fan complaining about the practice facility. Additionally, this tweet was liked by Tilman's son.
  2. I think this must be a different development because it looks almost nothing like the other design and nothing like the other photos on the same link couple this with nothing on the Mill's website indicating the design changed, especially considering that there is a 3D tour available elsewhere that maintains the other design. https://canvas360tours.com/TheMill/canvas/ I personally prefer the design more consistently shown, but I guess we should see soon considering this thing is supposed to be built by October.
  3. Looks like some leveling has begun from what I see driving by and the photos in this thread. There were also crews at the future roundabout yesterday when I drove by. Seems like some movement is finally happening at this intersection.
  4. I'm hoping for the largest concept Rainforest Cafe in the country. Not a big Tilman fan (ruined my Rockets in a blink of an eye because he wouldn't let the GM at the time do his job). I think he's nothing but a salesman who will cut bait if things get rough, but I'm curious what this ends up being.
  5. Quite the scale back for phase I No Museum and from what I'm seeing no theater. 2020 did no favors to this development.
  6. Regardless of whether or not they should share their views online, I'm extremely disappointed that they aren't offering take out options on their website. Open table claims they do take out so it's possible they take orders by phone, but I'm not in a hurry to eat out at this point but would be more willing to order take out.
  7. This isn't fourth. It's forth. Meaning onward or forward from a starting point. I'm guessing they are saying it's the start of navigation and its growth.
  8. From the moment I saw this was announced, I expected this. They hyped up an announcement for a theater, when they know everyone is waiting to see who will occupy the space, and they give us this, they aren't reading the room.
  9. Alamo Drafthouse is opening up their Katy area theater for the first time since closing in March. Hopefully there is some synergy and they announce their first inner-loop location at East River.
  10. Bahn Mi is exactly what I wanted to see in that location. They are going to rake it in. I've never been to a Roostar, but I surely will be going often now.
  11. The new information including Avila being involved make me much more excited for this. The original story made it seem like the franchisees were just going to pivot and open a new restaurant concept. This is what I wanted in the area. I jumped to conclusion but the original article was barren.
  12. Honestly this kills my interest in this project. Hopefully it's good but I looked up Squealing Pig and the outlook isn't great. https://www.memphisdailynews.com/news/2018/feb/14/corkys-bbq-expanding-headed-to-houston-and-dallas//print One of the owners of this group also runs several Panera Bread and Applebee's franchises. This isn't what I wanted from this location but hopefully they do well. The other owner of the group doesn't seem to have any other information available. I'm cautiously pessimistic on this one.
  13. The neighborhood definitely needs healthy options. Do you and your team have experience in the industry or is this a first time venture?
  14. This area could use some traffic instead of people going 60 MPH down Jensen next to a school.
  15. This is a misleading quote then. "Arnoldy said he was working the city to assure the project will not overwhelm existing traffic patterns. Rather it will have a “low-rise feel” that better blends into the area."
  16. I haven't seen a ton of activity over there, although I'm mostly working from home now and rarely leave, so I don't drive by nearly as often as I did pre shutdown.
  17. I would imagine it is because 2404 Navigation isn't relying on dozens of companies to commit to leases during the biggest health crisis since the 80s.
  18. I'm just curious as to what exactly Cajun Coast is. Is it a new concept from another restaurant/ chef? Is it an alias for a company who doesn't want people to know that they are coming to this location quite yet? One thing is for certain. I cannot find another Cajun Coast restaurant anywhere.
  19. I wouldn't expect that. He posted in response to a social media post that COVID got them. There aren't many national chains that are Cajun, so maybe a Ragin Cajun, who recently closed another location, or BB's make sense in this spot. Either would be fine for me as I would love a place to consistently be able to get crawfish.
  20. So I’m guessing EDI will design the apartments as they build for Alexan and Broadstone and the retail goes to Hsu. Hsu’s portfolio is quite impressive . https://hsuoffice.com He has a lot of buildings in Austin and his work in Houston is good as well. Here’s hoping we get a P Terry’s and a Home Slice in the East End. Additionally, I’m happy the building is only 7 stories because this lot is one of the last spots that can block my view of downtown. I’m a little worried about it blocking Minute Maid, but hopefully I get lucky and they build it in a way where it doesn’t. the parking lot seems big, which actually, in my opinion is a good sign that they are planning on building some attractive retail, maybe akin to Heights Mercantile.
  21. The original post that you responded to is saying that the restaurant being built will have a bar, not that it is a bar.
  22. Ninfas and Tiempo both have a bar and Moon Tower is essentially a bar and it's just one street over, so while it's reasonable to expect the worst, there are places with bars right there. edit: Corky's in Cypress according a quick google search has / had? a bar. I'm sure it's still Corky's and our hopes and dreams will be destroyed soon.
  23. While I haven't been in a few months due to COVID-19, the last time I was there the lot was purely a paid lot with two lunch-time 15 minute spots. This changed after the rules for minimum parking changed, which is theory is great for allowing more businesses to open but in practice kind of stinks in a city that is still so reliant on driving.
  24. SeaSide and Moon Tower are both great, they deserve no slander. Sadly the parking situation on Emancipation is a mess and I refuse to pay $10 for parking to go in and grab a poke bowl, so I go to SeaSide a lot less now.
