  1. I'll bet you a case of beer he isnt the president of the Dynamo's 12 months from today.
  2. Ollie is about to take another job. I have a feeling he isnt 100% behind this stadium deal anymore.
  3. Just because its tangible does not make it accurate.
  4. I bet during non-events it can sustain the building, if not add to the grid.
  5. Thanks guys. Yup, I see it on google now. $5 for a small bucket.. thats the same price I pay out near Champions.
  6. Hermann has a driving range? Where at? I had no idea and I walk that park pretty regularly.
  7. Interesting. And they just posted flyers all over the area trying to get families to take advantage of their tutoring and other after school activities.
  8. Baldwin Park area as well. Have SUV that (according to owners manual) can drive through 24 inches of water. PM me if your keg runs dry.
  9. I am not a prison designer, but generally speaking you dont let prisoners have a window office. So maybe some of the windows are real, and maybe you can see bars behind the glass.... that doesnt mean that there is a cell right behind the window. maybe you are seeing a hallway?
  10. Oh, and freshman year tip. Don't study in your dorm room or at home if you live off campus. Too many distractions. Find a place to go, a library or cafeteria, or somewhere quiet that you go to every night, whether you think you need to go or not. Get in the routine of doing this every night so you dont fall behind. You will find that you will have plenty of time for fun if you put your priorities first. Also, if you are in engineering, or a major that has a lot of calculation type classes, try and find a group of classmates that you can work with. I was very fortunate to find a group of 8 or so people that we pretty much studied together every single night. We didnt schedule it, we just sorta showed up at the same place night after night. It helped to keep you motivated and made studying a positive experience. We all helped each other out. As soon as one person figured out how to solve a new problem, they could share it with the entire group, and vice versa. I honestly don't think I would have made it through 4 years of electrical engineering classes without them.
  11. My most memorable memory of the first day of class... WVU has a mass transit system called the PRT. Basically an automated people mover that has 5 or so stations throughout campus. During our orientation, there was always a guide with us who ensured we go on the right train. On my first day of class, I walk up to the station, and I am presented several choices. 1) Beechnut 2) Walnut 3) Evansdale 4) Medical Center I knew I wanted either 1 or 2, but I had no idea which one. I guess I just picked one and hoped for the best... I must have chosen correctly, but boy was I stressed until I saw buildings that looked familiar.
  12. Season 11 just ended. Pick up the episodes at www.finalgear.com If you are unfamiliar with bittorrents, hit up BitPump Its very simple to use.
  13. I'll go with the guy who isn't a complete ------
  14. Apparently not if you drive through the exit
  15. Very interesting. If its true, then Im sure there will be an announcement before too long. They told the employees about the UofH sale quickly. You hear about layoffs, but you generally don't hear about hiring. It doesn't take long to be right back to the same employment level as you were prior to a 5-10% layoff. And instead of transferring out of Houston, a large number of employees transferred to Houston from other locations.
  16. There is some confusion regarding which building we are talking about. Buildings CCA1-3 and CCM1-2 were sold at least 2 years ago and they were supposed to be the UofH branch campus. However, that was fought by other nearby schools, namely Texas Prairie View that were afraid that UofH would take away from their enrollment. So the developer has been trying to sell/lease the buildings for some time. I believe they are the buildings that might have been rumored to sell again. This was the 44.5 acre redevelopment that started this thread. CCA9-15 are being vacated, and will eventually be sold/leased. However, to my knowledge, several of those buildings still house HP employees and are not vacant at this time. That leaves CCA4-8 and CCM3-8 as HP offices. They are expanding Parking garages 6 and 13 to eleviate the parking congestion.
  17. Lexus has a bit of a timing issue. With the release of the IS-F, Lexus was positioning themselves to truly compete with the //M, AMG, an other high performance German divisions. However, on the other hand, with a corporate mandate that all of their cars will be hybrid by a certain date (I cannot remember, I think 2012), they are also going for "Green". With $4 gas, and buyers flocking towards more efficient auto's, they are re-thinking how many F style cars they introduce. Its hard to be "Green" while introducing a gas guzzling supercar. At this point a corporate decision has not been made, however, it is looking less likely that it will be released. One important thing to remember is even at the $100,000+ price tag, Lexus will never make their money back on their development costs. This would have been a "look at what we can do" car for Lexus, not a profit maker.
  18. The Supra will return, however not as a GT-R competitor. Simply as a 350Z class vehicle. Lexus will not bring the LF-A to production, even though the car is almost entirely through the development cycle. Lexus will instead focus on "green" initiatives. In fact, a new hybrid sedan will be coming out in 2009. The GT-R may not be the best looking vehicle out there, but thats not what its strengths are. Have any of you seen the Top Gear review of the car on the track? (Not the bullet train race). The car is insane.
  19. Check for corporate discounts. I dont think anyone actually pays $50/month.
  20. Those are condo's. And Sammy's is on the ground floor.
  21. I think I read that they are moving the Y to a new(er) building.
  22. What is the history of the school bounded by Cleveland, Cushing, Victor, and Wilson? Link to Google Maps I think its name was Gregory Elementary.
