  1. Looks like we were both wrong. I was off by 7 months.
  2. Nothing sticks it to Kroger like giving them zero competition... smartest thing Ive read all day.
  3. Elgin currently cannot be one way over near Chenevert. The streets get all sorts of crazy the closer to 59 you get. I wouldnt have been able to get home if Elgin was one way...
  4. You will be waiting for awhile on the Titan renderings. Nissan doesnt even know what they are doing yet. They had a deal with Dodge to offer a re-badged Ram, but that fell through when they merged with Fiat. Now Nissan is scrambling to come up with a backup plan. Chances are, the "next generation" Titan will simply be a sheetmetal refresh of the current product.
  5. I second the notion for getting the Lexus. I've had my IS300 for almost 8 years, and even though I saved up money for a new car... I just have no reason to trade it in. It looks and drives like a new car.
  6. Get a shock collar... err, a stimulation collar. After a learning her new boundaries, my dog never tried t go past the gravel track. And while I kept the collar on her for about a year, I can count on one hand the number of times I actually had to "stimulate" her... Once you can trust them to run at Baldwin, its a great park... doggie water fountain, plenty of room to play fetch, etc.
  7. I know their prices are insane, but for me part of the ballgame experience is getting the chili-dog and nacho's. Bringing my own just wouldnt be the same.
  8. I have never had to pay more than $5 to pay for parking at any Astros game I have ever attended. If a big flat lot opened up closer to the stadium, dont you think it should be used for parking? Its not overflow, its just another option...
  9. I would say we are still months away from construction starting. Samples provide data to be used in design and review... that means the final design has not been signed off on.
  10. that looks like soil samples to me... however, thats a good sign.... samples are necessary to begin the building process.
  11. I drove by the other day... its roughly at the corner of Cambridge and OST if memory serves me correctly...
  12. Its free. Pretty much any service station will take it for you. There are some public drop off locations around too, although I do not use those.
  13. Honestly depends on what coolant was used from the factory. Some coolant is made to last 5 years/100,000 miles. However, I still change mine every 30K miles. Its really easy. Underneath the radiator, there will be a drain plug (or hose). You simply let all of the coolant drain out and refill. Things to watch out for. This method is not a full flush. You will not be getting every last ounce of fluid out... but if you change it every 30-50k miles, it doesnt matter. When you refill, start the car and check to make sure the temperature does not rise too far. It is possible to get air pockets in the lines... if this is the case, let the car cool, open the radiator cap and open the drain slightly letting just a bit of the coolant out. This should allow the system to purge the air. Tighten everything back up, and check again for temperature.
  14. Does anyone know whats going on at the Post Office located at Hadley and Crawford? The building is currently not a public use post office, it is just a distribution center. Looks like they are expanding the building... the east wall has been torn down. The entrance has also been torn down. There is also activity on the south side of the property in the grass... possibly extending the parking lot or putting in another smaller building. Any plans to make this a public use post office?
  15. Im not sure about the curvy road part, but dead ends deter crime because it limits their escape route. Criminals like to know they have multiple exits when the police come a chasin' Curvy roads might be because they cant see when the police are coming?
  16. Light rail on grass is not a new idea. Its been done in many cities. The trolleys in New Orleans mostly run on a grassy median. They dont HAVE to be embedded in a street.
  17. So instead of accidently linking themselves to the Univ of Houston, they now will be accidently linked to Texas Southern? Smart move...
  18. So if he started a thread about your mental health..... oh never mind.
  19. We already have that 2 blocks away at Baldwin. I guess we could buy our own fence...
  20. I was thinking possibly a dog park. I remember a year or two ago their being talk of having a dedicated dog park in Midtown since Baldwin has been turned into a unofficial dog park by the residents. I figure, although small, could be a perfect little dog park if fenced in and given a few shade trees.
  21. I noticed a Houston Parks sign for a new park has been put up on a small piece of land at the corner of Elgin and Austin. It says Aquired 2008. I cant remember the name of the park, Elizabeth Grogan or something like that. Does anyone know whats going on there? Right now its a vacant lot with a white garage building on one side.
  22. What is wrong with a car dealership in Midtown? I would love if I could drop my car off for warranty service just a few blocks away from the house.
  23. Just for confirmation... you are taking my bet?
