I’m very hesitant to try another Berg restaurant after being disappointed in both Sofia and Benny Chows. Neither had the quality of food or service to justify the price point.

My guess is the WF on Yale/610 re-locates here. That location was opened as a “365” concept and is really undersized for the area.

No way in hell this is an everyday “cafe”. You don’t leave a popular higher end restaurant to make croissant sandwiches and eggs Benedict. The heights can support nicer eateries.

I also still think this is a terrible, inaccessible location. That might be different in 20 years (and/or with a direct connection to Kansas St) but right now the location just isn't conducive to casual visits.
Agreed. That entire area west of TC Jester and south of 11th is a delicate flower to get to.

Little Dreamers had inconsistent operating hours, OK drinks, and only started selling alcohol after suggestions to them. It wasn’t a destination coffee shop with Slow Pokes next door and Luce down the street.

I didn’t realize developers completely cleared the land back then.

From what I can tell when I drive by, yes.

That business park has so much development potential. Especially being adjacent to the old sears.

They will print money if they open somewhere with a lot of foot traffic (for Houston). I think the current location is terrible.

Road construction in the area isn’t helping business either.

I’m sorry but Kraftsmen hasn’t been good for at least 2 years now, basically coinciding with the change in management. I stopped going there altogether.

Unless they are going 4 story wood frame, this has got to be more than just an apt building

Rails is very nice but reasonable clothing. I have several of their items.

Looks like a parking garage with an amenity deck.

I know a Sonny Bazbaz. This is his website: https://www.bbzdevelopment.com
Perhaps a coincidence and they are different people.

I’ve said it a dozen times… the only way houston becomes a tourist city is if it embraces hedonism and becomes a party town. Expand rail down Washington and shut down vehicular traffic east of Heights. Similarly make blocks of downtown pedestrian only. Run a north south line along Studemont/Montrose starting at white oak and ending at Westheimer (or extending down to connect to red line). Shut down vehicular traffic on lower westheimer. Allow casinos to be built in downtown Houston.

This will do well here. The area needs more casual spots and Bosscat is not it (is Liberty Kitchen still around… somehow even worse). The grass space was nice but too big. Lots of folks just letting their fur mutts run wild.

Photo of the entrance of Sora Sushi / Himari shared on the Heights Buzz forum in November.
This is opening soon at 1223 W 34th St, Suite C-500, in the Stomping Grounds development.
The restaurant is from the team behind Aiko, Handies Douzo, and Kokoro.
The signage for Sora changed to Himari, both on the storefront and the marquee.

Not surprised. I was in on their first or second day and it was an absolute shit show and totally unprofessional. Nice space, weird layout. Someone else will take over and do well there.

The city needs to add stop lights and pedestrian crossings. People drive 50-60mph even though the limit is 35, and so many folks from the surrounding apartments play frogger across shepherd.

A mid rise would be better use. A mid rise with gfr would make more sense
