  1. Is this going to be a rooftop club? please tell me no...Or will it be in doors? If outdoors can they get around the noise ordinance?
  2. halleeeelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleeeeeluuuuuuuujah
  3. Not to mention the smell near there is extremely foul all the time. I think there is a grease trap run off or something right there.
  4. XX use to be El Patio right? Yes, the food there is amazing since they actually have an amazing chef now. Probably one of the best Tex Mex meals I have ever had (the prices reflect that as well, but worth it), and the drinks are still the same amazing El Patio Margaritas I was use to (they will kick your arse, so take em slow)
  5. Never ate there (there are too many better places to eat Tex Mex in our city) but in the evenings I would drive past and almost always saw people eating on the patio (this was before summer mind you). I go to Bar Munich next door often on Fridays and Saturdays and I would walk by Ruby's and there were always people inside. Hmm, I wonder what happened.
  6. Houston Club is still open isn't it? I am going to a charity event there in September.
  7. Bombay Pizza will be on the "Best thing I ever Ate" tonight (Food Channel)
  8. This is correct. I think the only book stores left that we will see in the future will be the ones that sell the rare, expensive books.
  9. lol, that would have been awesome, but it was in the middle of the day. This one lady had a massive yellow dress (it almost looked like curtains) that she would wash and dry out on the lawn once a week during the lunch hour.
  10. When I worked in 5 Houston Center everyone in our office referred to that park as "Rat Park". Every time you would walk by, you could see huge rats in the bushes. They would sometimes run after you. This park was used mainly as an area for homeless people to lay their clothes out to dry during the day. Most days I would look out my window and see a dozen or more pieces of clothing scattered throughout the lawn area of the park.
  11. How so? just curious. When they first opened they were really good, but the food started to go downhill somewhat. I do remember going there when they sold produce, but stopped
  12. I saw the sign last week that they were on hiatus, but I didn't think they were closing. Kind of sad to see a business go from downtown.
  13. The former Y will be a temporary green space, but Chevron plans to build another building there, still better than a parking lot.
  14. Oh nice, I did see them working inside last week, I was wondering what they were going to do with that place. Monsoon was really good for the first six months it was open, it just went downhill from there. Twisted Fork before Monsoon was really good, but they closed because they felt like they were being bullied from Crescent regarding the rent and refused to renew their lease. I hope Crescent learns from their mistakes with the Park Shops, I mean "Houston Center". They drove the really nice stores away Now it is just a cafeteria essentially.
  15. I went Saturday night before going to our regular spots. It was pretty good, the crowd was pretty good too, not too many people, not too few. They did say that they are still working on a menu (German Food) that will be coming soon. They have five or six german beers on tap. Two of them were pretty good, one was a wheaty thicker version and the other was considered a lite version. You can also get any draft beer in a 32 ounce glass mug (lol). mmmm
  16. Oh, I am all for the super block in Midtown, that would be awesome. But I hate to drive to go to a park, does anyeone know if you can bring small dogs onto the Metrorail? I am pretty sure the old downtown Y location will be a building eventually for Chevron, they are busting at the seams already.
  17. I hope very fast... it is causing a nightmare on Louisiana street (one of the main roads in downtown)
  18. Um, Yeah, before you try and call me out: Two things you need to know... 1)I do not live here, I live at Commerce Tower 2)My cousin doesn't own a dog, she has never owned a dog or a cat, she is allergic to them... (Added this later, after thinking about it): As for the person letting their dog defecate in the elevator, GROSS!! I hope they have a camera in the elevator that catches the person. The building should bill them for the cleaning cost.
  19. They don't get returned the first, second or third time, but they will send them back if they can't get anyone to receive them. I know a few times packages have come when our concierge was on a break and FED Ex, or whomever would come back the next day. Usually though there is a set time these delivery companies come so someone is always there. But as for this building, I do not know.
  20. Wow seriously... I find this "Haifer" to be hilarious. Don't think for one second anyone believes you. I mean come on, you must work for the lofts. The fact that you are referring to the "drama-queen" (which is funny if I may say so, because he is one) tells me for sure that you do in fact work for the company that "manages" (for a lack of a better word) this building.
  21. Does anyone know who owns this building? My cousin (who is more like a sister to me) and her boyfriend have lived here for a couple of months and are trying to contact the owners with regards to numerous issues. One of my friends has already moved out (this week actually) of this place because it is so bad. - The management is a joke. They have the leasing agent serving as the property manager and she is awful, very nice but not very smart. - Parking (rather lack of parking) - Cable installation for their apartment was $300 (the building should have had these apartments cable ready) - The doorbox doesn't work so if you have a package or delivery coming you have to wait out in the lobby to get your delivery or package as there is also no door man - The only "amenities" this place has is a "gym" with old equipment (I really wouldn't call it a gym as there is no weights or weight system, it is more of a cardio room) and a pool table.
