  1. LOL ! Oldtimers is getting to me too ! Im always amazed at some of the things I find I did and forgot about it.
  2. I grew up in Houston are and LOVED Roy Rogers as a kid. Went to the Roy Rogers Roast Beef restaurant at Wesheimer and 610 many times as a 20 something which would have been 1970's. On one visit , my friend Jack and I were standing at the counter to pay for our lunch, and Jack nudged me...I looked up, and standing at the counter next to us was Roy Rogers himself !! I stuck out my hand and said "Howdy Roy !" And Roy shook my hand and said "Howdy Partner ". I am 64 now and this remains one of my favorite memories. Spoke to my buddy Jack a few minutes ago and as we reminisced about the old days, this memory was one of the ones that both of us remember very well. Roy had on an iconic white Cowboy hat, with a Black Western style suit, and had a large embroidered Palimino on the back of the jacket as I guess was a tribute to Trigger. Neither Jack or I can remember the date we met him and have both wondered if he might have been in town for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
