  1. the concept of mega-churches still astounds me even after being here 7 years. we don't have anything remotely like that back in the northeast.
  2. the only issue i have them being there is space, they're gonna be cooped up in a relatively small area.

  4. an embassy, i believe, is the actual representation of a country where as the consulates are satellite offices in cities tied to that particular country in some way. examples for houston... russia - space, oil mexico - from what i heard, there are a few mexicans here in houston china - big chinese population and the houston falun dafa needs a place to protest. sweden - we just opened a big ole ikea

  8. no, the duck pond is 'below' the lofts in that map; right about where the word 'richmond' is.

  13. i don't know what i'm gonna do if the astros end up going against the yankees in teh world series. i'm a long time yankee fan but i can't root against the home town team and the underdogs either...
  14. i am a member of that church but haven't been since they built the new building. kinda tells you how often i do the church thing but i did manage to take this shortly after it was built... it was finished around late 2002.
  15. the side (in that photo) is facing west. the galleria is to the right.
  16. if galveston wasn't so run down (no offense to anyone that lives there), i would have no qualms about living there one bit. i like the subdued pace as well as its preservation of old architecture. a few qualities houston falls short on. galeveston just seems so neglected which is unfortunate becuase the city has immense potential.

  18. yeah, that building does not score well in the looks department.
