  1. What are your thought on the overtime law? Do you think that it will be beneficial or detrimental to the salaried employees? Or do you think that it will basically kill or cripple all small businesses?
  2. You are right there, lockmat. We as a nation are getting fatter and fatter, and we are slowly killing ourselves. It's just unfortunate that with so many solutions staring us in the face, so few people are actually going to do anything about it.

    Happiness is...

Success. In my books the definition for happiness is the exact same one for success. Happiness means success to me and success in life leads to happiness.
  4. I like to sit and watch a romantic movie with a glass of wine. Nothing beats that for me when it comes to unwinding after a long, stressful day.
  5. That really is great news for everyone living in that area. I know I feel such a sense of relief every time one of those depraved people is taken off the streets. Thanks for sharing that link.
  6. I guess you're right there. I wasn't really thinking of it that way. In a case like that I can see how it would be frustrating to have your account frozen when you're not in the wrong.
  7. Thanks again, Montrose1100. I've already checked out some of these sites and the link that you posted above. I guess the major factor as far as I"m concerned is the financial aspect of things and this helps a lot.
  8. Thank you so much for the suggestion. That is exactly what I need to make the transition from Windows to Linux smoother and easier for myself.
  9. The rules are simple: Just copy and paste the post before yours to ensure a smooth reading experience, and then add one or two sentences of your own. The crazier the better. I'll start: Once upon a time there was a talking spider who lived in a barn.
  10. Can anyone tell me what the first step is in the process of developing an app? I have an idea but I don't know who I need to contact to get it off the ground. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  11. Back to the Future was a classic and yeah, that one did get a few things right. It's a bit eerie when you think about how right they were about certain aspects of what the future would look like.
  12. I think $500 is reasonable if you want something that basically gets the job done. I usually spend about $1500 to get what I really want and so far I've never been disappointed.
  13. I'm thinking of creating a series of Youtube videos that teach people how to create their own blog and get their first 1000 subscribers. The videos will be free and I will make my money from being an affiliate of the hosting companies.
  14. I think that is too much trouble to go through for anyone especially if you're in business or if you're using Paypal to get paid online. I think it would be much easier just to keep your affairs in order and then you won't have to worry about paypal or the bank taking out money from your account.
  15. This is an old book that was responsible for changing the way I think over ten years ago and I re-read it recently and it's still as relevant today as it was when it was first written decades ago. Has anyone else read it? What are your thoughts?
  16. There are some movies that portray the world as it might be fifty or a hundred years or more from today and although we will never know if they were accurate or not, which sci-fi movies do you think may actually be on to something?
  17. I think I read that post that you're talking about. I found it very helpful because I also had the exact same problem when using Edge and in the end I just went back to what I know. Chrome.
  18. I'm a totally tech-challenged noob to Linux and when you start getting all techy like that then you lose me. I know I'll learn all the technical jargon soon enough, but it's very frustrating in the beginning.
  19. As far as that informational website goes, I think Power to Choose is very reliable when it comes to getting unbiased and free comparisons.
  20. I know what you mean about the updates, Subdude. I actually set mine to not auto-update because it was getting really monotonous. I don't know if this will cause any problems or not, but I was tired of the never-ending updates.
  21. Can't say that I have experienced that in my life, but from what I see on the television, I think that was a really great era and the ones that got to experience it in all it's splendor are truly lucky.
  22. That sounds like it could be a complicated process. I think your first step should be finding out if it is a shared attachment so that you know if you can do the job alone or you need to consult with your neighbors before moving forward.
  23. I think Samagon may be right. I'm very surprised to hear that they had no rules for this kind of thing. Or if they do, then they don't really apply to this exact situation. I just hope that justice will be served, for the sake of those poor victims.
  24. That's a very informative post. Thanks Montrose1100. Could you maybe name some of those websites that you talk about or should I just do a google search? I know some sites are more trustworthy than others.
  25. If you had a friend who was looking to move to Houston, what kind of information would you suggest that they find out before moving here, for example, cost, housing, education and so on.
