  1. Thanks for the reply. I drove through there with him this weekend, and I agree with you about the neighborhood closest to the loop. The other areas seem to be nicer. The Randall's strip (I think it's called Meyer Park) didn't look that bad, but if just a few more places went out of business, it would seem a little abandoned. He may buy in this area but is still unsure. Someone at his work told him that many families send their kids to private school. That area may top out in terms of resale at some point because why not pay just a little more (as prices are rising) to the west or north and use good public schools? Anyway, thanks again for your opinion.
  2. A friend is looking at houses in this area, but I'm not much help as I'm unfamiliar with this part of town. Does anyone have any input as to pros/cons? He asked me about the Randall's shopping center at Bellfort and Post Oak, but I didn't know much about it. He is worried that it may bring down property values or increase crime. (Apparently much of the strip is empty.) Are there plans to renovate? Also, he said there are some industrial park buildings and rundown apartments scattered nearby, maybe closer to Stella Link. Are these an issue to those who live there? Thanks in advance.
  3. I think Bookstop and B&N are the same thing. Once B&N moves, then the Bookstop will be available for lease, too. It's the same size (13,000 s.f.) as a Weingarten "available for lease soon" sign out front. Maybe big changes?!
  4. Whole Earth's sign at W. Alabama advertises that they need staff in their new location opening up at River Oaks Shopping. Changes may be happening soon at the bookstop strip and the River Oaks shopping area.
  5. I believe someone involved with the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum wrote a book about it. If you call or visit the museum here in Houston, they could probably give you a ton of info. There was a one-hour special on one of the local networks (2 or 11) about it maybe two years ago. They might have a DVD of it. http://www.buffalosoldiermuseum.com/
  6. There is a new Weingarten sign up at the Bookstop strip along Alabama, looking to lease 13,000 s.f., which is the same size as the Bookstop. Anyone know a timetable for when B&N is leaving to move down to River Oaks Shopping?

  8. Hello. We've noticed two more units for sale and are somewhat interested. It's a great location, but it makes us nervous that three sold over the summer and it's next to the Houston Housing Authority's Ewing Apartments housing project. Anyone have any personal experience with this area? Also, does anybody know what may go up down the street at the corner blocks of Hermann Dr. and Jackson? Thanks.
