now, if we could only get that International Tower or Theater Tower going up at 50 plus stories, I could stop asking so many questions like "are we there yet, are we there yet ?" LOL.

This is awesome news if it's true and so far, it does look that way !

Question: Which of the 3 buildings in the middle is the Arabella ? I get confused with all the construction going on and all these developers with their "unique" names trying to vie for attention.

At any rate... at least one of these surface parking lots is prime for a supertall tower, something more than 75 stories, 100 maybe ? Oh well, a guy can dream right.

Holiday/Days/Heaven On Earth Inn At 801 St. Joseph Pkwy.
ArtNsf replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
well, that's at least a better use of the visible space, despite how ugly the building already is, to make some great statements ! -
Thanks so much ! Yes, I remember now how exciting it was, and hopefully will be again whenever they finally get going on the tower part.

Does anyone have a link to the latest rendering of this tower and it's height ? I recall it being pretty big and from these photos, it looks like Theater square tower (or whatever it's official name will be) is definitely getting started. This is exciting for sure. Any update on the details would also be great. Thanks everyone !

Ha ! Good one. Thanks everyone for your input. I want to think it's because of termites or something like that. I like that old building/house that sits there. Looks like it should be a museum or historic site, maybe...

Oh yeah and I keep forgetting to ask what might be under that other white cover to the upper left of this building - sort of appears to be like an old train engine. It's been covered up for many months now during construction ?
-
Anyone else see this today (attached image from construction cam) ? Wonder if they are either just covering up this old structure or covering it temporarily to do some pest control or other ?? Strange -

Thank you ! I agree totally and couldn't have said it any better ! Let's hope the national media - news, sports, Hollywood, retail, "get's it" soon and realizes what they've all been missing for decades by discounting Houston so much in the past. Cheers to HOUSTON !!!

The Post Oak Hotel At Uptown Houston At 1600 West Loop S.
ArtNsf replied to King Owl's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
I totally agree. But, it would be much more attractive if they removed that god-awful crown thingy at the top. Should be easy enough to do. Consider this my own personal request to the owner of the building to fix this and soon ! Please.- 590 replies

Catalyst: Residential High-Rise At 1475 Texas Ave.
ArtNsf replied to TowerSpotter's topic in Downtown
I just have to comment at this point - seems like the glass outer shell is taking AGES to get done in an area with tons of available construction "man" power available ? Shortage of glass ? Maybe problems with delivery of the product by the manufacturer ? 609 Main has only been U/C for a while longer, yet is almost finished with the cladding, despite being about 10 times as massive. Just my two cents.- 911 replies

Actually, they also mention an 11 story parking garage underneath? If that's the case, then it will be about 45 floors in total, no ?- 1,224 replies
