  1. Wow... It's come to this? We know what theatre were refering to.
  2. It makes more sense for me (being hispanic) to say "El." The name is spanish "El" just naturally takes it's spot
  3. Walk into Sears on main, Larry's Art's, Peek inside of El Capitan in Pasadena near the door. You'll "smell it." It just smells old that's all
  4. I remember ables was a three story building. IT WAS CREEPY! I was 11 years old.(just about 10 years ago) They had an old OTIS elevator. It smelled like 1950 in there. Same smell when i go to Larry's Art on Richey. They sold old figurines at Ables, And the men that worked there were very nice. I have no idea what was in the 3 story building. I went to the 3rd floor for my braces and no door had names. My guess is most of it was probably abandoned. The Dentist moved next to rerun books which he is still there now. Nice old guy.
  5. There is an error somewhere look at the year built and year pic was taken... http://hcad.org/records/details.asp?tab=1&...t=0281770000026
  6. The weingartens looks like it's right across from where walmart is! AH HA it IS IT! It's a shopping center owned by campbell properties! compare it to google earth view The building on the north of the shopping center is a Family Dollar/Dollar General(same junk) The building where the arch looking thing is now a defunct Weiners(Now a falla paredes). On the bottom is where CiCi's pizza is at now. The street running on the left is W Southmore. My dentist was across from the southern tip in a three story building. On the east side is Shaver and I assume the Sears was there...
  7. Better yet why did the 3 story building across from sears get razed? The one where wal-greens was. There was an old pharmacy and they had fountain drinks and ice cream. My dentist was on the second floor.
  8. That was an old rumor, They plan a "gaylord" type convention center and hotel in there. I still miss Astroworld... check this thread out. http://www.sixflagshouston.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1712
  9. It's not closing down completly, That store and several others like the Wilcrest store are relocating. I hear near the old office max fot that store though. Which store are you talking about? There is OD on woodridge and "city office supply" behind it.
  10. That has been remoured for years! I heard it when i worked at Office Depot in 2002! The office depot on edgebrook won't be there much longer.
  11. Wow we need to learn to quote accordingly! I scrolled over the same text atleast 3 times!
  12. Speaking of Milby does anyone have any info on the cemetary they are buried at? It is located on Magnolia street near JR harris. I had a govt teacher that told me where the waste water plant was at it was the "rich side" of town lined down those trees.
  13. I'm not surprised at all. I was reading other forums and the people are pissed off! Invest all this money BACK into the park even though it wasn't doing well before? Does not make sense. Hey is NO population above 30%? No reopen a park even though it might take YEARS to get alteast 70% of the city back.
  14. I like Hobby althought i've never been to love field. I hate the fact that you can't walk by the detectors into the gate area anymore. Southwest is good at giving "Special assistance" passes.
  15. Wow Hancocks is closing? JC penneys is too...
  16. The area behind HEB is vacant, Anyone have any idea what's going on? For a few years i've been hearing that the old Best Buy from Almeda Mall is moving to a new store thats supposed to be "built." Since i don't work for Wolfe i can't confirm.
  17. Chet i beg to differ, on several occasions i have been to Kemah, Six Flags OVer texas and Fiesta texas both this year and last year it has been packed! No DVD or video game could replace memories at an amusement park!
  18. Anyone know what's going on at supertrac? I drove past and saw a few bumper cars(or go carts) being loaded. The track looked like it was being converted into a parking lot they had a bunch of yellow parking bumps on the track.
  19. According to the Pasadena Newletter they plan a "resturant and some retail." to be inside of it! can't wait!
  20. If it was that easy Astroworld would still be around. Free parking! Ha!
