  1. Was at pitch 25 last night. Easily 50 TVs and every single one was the Astros game. Joking with my friend that the screen at NRG was probably showing the Astros game
  2. Sign is up for Mayweather Boxing They filled in the side garage door with some "brick" that looks seamless and completely real
  3. At least it has a buffer between the car lanes and the bike lane. The Bagby redo in downtown is really the best way to do it - there's enough room for bikes to coexist with pedestrians and be fully separated from traffic. Barring that, having the buffer have a concrete curb is good as it is a real barrier from cars using the bike lane as impromptu parking
  4. The bike lanes do feel tacked on - it felt like they had a design similar to Bagby then decided to put a bike lane in last minute. It does provide a nicer tire changing experience when you have a protected bike lane between you and the escalade doing 45
  5. Was that part of the bond initiative? 2019 seems like a decade ago at this point
  6. The big issue is the sheer amount of single track railroads combined with freight trains that don't fit on sidings. If a freight train is coming the opposite way the the amtrak train has to stop and wait for it to pass - there's no other choice
  7. Were there any bike racks? or is it really just window service so you don't need to?
  8. Last I saw the plans, the Inner Katy BRT is supposed to terminate at St Emanuel & Rusk, riding in the light rail lane through downtown. I do think it should just be an extension of the silver line though instead of a separate line Also it should be a train but that’s too expensive for some reason
  9. In Lexington the circle highway has maybe 12 major interchanges, and there’s a diverging diamond, a single point urban interchange (SPUI), a cloverleaf, a 3 level stack, 4 normal exit ramps, and a bunch of traffic lights incidentally, the Kentucky traffic engineering school is located at UK right there
  10. I think the 40/41 could be fixed with a little smarter frequency & timing. The 25 and especially the 82 need dedicated bus lanes to be on time at peak. Richmond and Westheimer have the room west of 610, but making a dedicated bus lane where the 82 really needs it is probably politically impossible
  11. The 40/41 was 6 min frequency at peak before covid; it's at 10 minute frequency at peak now, and often the 40 and the 41 bunch behind each other so the frequency is more like every 25 minutes sometimes at 5
  12. I think a new bus that goes up emancipation, past east river, and gets to at Arnold’s would popular
  13. Until people run the roundabouts using lifted trucks through the middle
  14. My grandmother said she always just swam in the flooded streets for fun when it rained
  15. Is it a physical server in a closet? Or all AWS or similar?
  16. The scale of it… I wonder if metro will actually improve frequency on the buses that go next it. A train is too much to hope for
  17. At the end of the day it is still a car-oriented shopping center. A fully pedestrian-focused development could have had at least 2 more retail spaces. However, it is still much better than an empty warehouse, and the quality of the finish is good
  18. there’s a huge variety of food at hobby: - Pappa BBQ - Pappasito’s -Papadeaux - Pappas Burger - Pappasitos togo
  19. I believe he’s the only starting pitcher with a 0 ERA
  20. I don’t like the idea of an elevated stop at Harrisburg, but they definitely have to grade separate with the freight rail
