  1. @Triton, thanks for your interest in the site. Sorry for any confusion. We stated that construction has begun on Midtown Park, not our site. Construction has begun for our site nearby, Parc at Midtown located at 2801 Crawford Street. This site was the preferred choice for our VIPs for Midtown. Our site on 4001 Main will be developed at a later date according to interest expressed by our VIPs and we will announce a construction date for it in the Spring of 2016. Our first phase of development currently underway includes Parc at Midtown, Upper Richton, and Museum BLVD.
  2. Hello all, Thank for your interest in our developments and this opportunity to provide an update on our communications. We have been quite active in our communications since November 2014. We have published six press releases and have been covered by the Houston Business Journal and Chron.com. One of the news items published pertained the hiring of a very experienced homebuilder who joined Surge Homes as V.P. Development and Construction (see all press releases and news coverage at https://www.surgehomes.com/news-coverage). We’ve also been busy writing many social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+). Last month, we sent out our first e-newsletter, “The Surge Factor,” to keep in touch with the 3030 people who completed an online registration on our website. By the way, in order to get the latest news from Surge Homes, we suggest people register at www.surgehomes.com. If you do so and also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Google +, you won’t miss a beat concerning the progress of our Inner Loop communities. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/surgehomes Twitter: https://twitter.com/SurgeHomes Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Surgehomes/posts You can also register on our Blog/News section to receive updates by e-mail (rather than via social media posts). Blog / News: https://www.surgehomes.com/blog We are also on LinkedIn, but this is more for networking with the realtor community and job offers. https://www.linkedin.com/company/surge-homes To update you on our progress, Surge Homes is continuing its innovative approach to build communities with the input of future residents and neighbors (and not only the real estate professionals normally involved in residential developments). We received a higher than expected volume of registrations and comments from our Insiders Club online, as well as from our clients who purchased Surge Homes VIP Certificate at our Discovery Center. A total of 3400 people made comments on our proposed developments. The launch of the VIP Certificate sales was the highlight of January 2015 since 150+ people showed up on the first afternoon in order to make a deposit and be invited first when the homes will be up for sale. The article was posted by HoustonMidtown above. In February, March, and April 2015, we have done just as we promised to the community: we compiled the preferences of thousands of Houstonians from comments provided online and in-person from our VIPs who made deposits, and have been integrating their suggestions and selections in order to build the right home, at the right price, at the right location. This week we will be sending our second installment of “The Surge Factor,” which will contain some detailed information on our upcoming residential developments. The newsletter will be sent Thursday to those who are registered on our website. Thanks LS27 and asubrt for making a request for an update.
  3. @Howard Huge Thanks for your detailed comments and analysis. We truly appreciate your input. In 2007, when one of Surge Homes’ partners acquired the land on Main, he had the same vision as you did for seeing that the mid-main area would be the “Next Big Thing in Urban Houston Development!” When you say “bang for the buck,” please consider that the cycle of investment is much longer when we build a large condominium project than it is for townhomes. So, it’s not necessarily how many square feet you build on the same site that determines the rate of return for our investors, but it’s also how long it takes to get the capital back to our investors—and how much capital is required. Condominiums need more equity and it takes a longer time to get the investors’ money back plus a rate of return, which is required for our investors to keep trusting us. Nonetheless, your vision is good, and it’s one that’s shared by many adored Houstonians. The Insiders’ Club is filled with future home/condo owners who wish to see more density on this site. We have not finished our Insiders’ Club program, but in January 2015, we will have a clear idea of whether it will be townhomes or condominiums. Please, Howard, keep sending us your input.
  4. @Gator Purify Thank you for the encouragement! Yes, transparency and direct communication with the public is a core value within our company. We've been developing homes for 25 years, and the partners have surrounded themselves with a team that knows, from the first day they start working with Surge Homes, that they have to listen to future home buyers before they finalize a product, and that they must always keep an open channel of communication with the neighbors. Please keep sending us your comments through our website and various blogs. We received many more comments than we expected, and we don’t mind working evenings and weekends to make sure we can read everyone’s thoughts and opinions, and then integrate many of the suggestions into our final product.
  5. @Triton, The grassy area north of Maple Street is not part of our parcel. It is owned by the City of Houston and managed by the Park and Recreation Department.
  6. The condos that we are proposing would have ground floor retail.
  7. @H-Town Man. We are testing the idea of both townhomes and condos on our site, www.surgehomes.com, to see which type of product there is more interest for on this site.
  8. @UtterlyUrban, yes this is a real project. @Howard Huge, yes this site is the old Loomis armored truck facility. @j_cuevas713. A start date has not been announced yet. We are still accessing the interest level on our website, www.surgehomes.com. @toxtehogrady. Our sign was mistakenly placed in the right of way of the Heights bike trail and we removed it as soon as we were alerted of this mistake.
