  1. Cool. I wonder what they'll build in its place.
  2. You're right about The Hamilton. Thought it was 28. Can't seem to find verification on The Epic though. One site says 10 and another 18!
  3. You might be referring to The Epic. It has that jenga style..like a mini version of the independent in Austin. I believe it's 15 stories but looks larger. https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1860531 It has an accompanying tower next to it called The Hamilton. It's 28 stories (not 26 like the thread says) https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=157359282#post157359282 Apologies if those links don't work as I'm working off my phone. You can Google Skyscrapercity Dallas and you'll get the full list of many projects with photos. Also:http://dfwu.dallasmetropolis.com/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=0176d5a1c61e90d402ded4b9d9cfc6d8 for the most up to date.
  4. Not sure if that's a blessing or curse but thanks anyways🤗
  5. The Dallas Galleria/Midtown vision has seemed dead but it looks like there might be some progress in demo-ing VV mall and start building? http://NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth: Vision 2020: Progress Finally on Removing Valley View Mall. https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Vision-2020-Progress-Finally-on-Removing-Valley-View-Mall-509083391.html
  6. Interesting. Hopefully this will be a go for Uptown. Now FAA approved. It will definitely stand out. HARWOOD XII 620' FT. 41 FLOORS. Would technically replace Cityplace Tower as the tallest outside of downtown. https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=388959156&row=4
  7. I can agree with that. There is lots of space just south of downtown where they could have put it. Actually I believe the Dallas mayor was interested in bringing the Rangers to downtown D but focused on other projects. The Rangers in the middle of DFW keeps all those other people to the west happy.
  8. I agree. Man it seems like just yesterday when it first opened (1995?) I remember loving the newness of it. How time flies.
  9. :-D (your emojis aren't working) Howdy folks it's been awhile. Hope all is well. I lost my password but found on my old computer. It's good to come back with a bang and here it is. God I love Hines. 39 stories 453ft Just began construction! https://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2018/11/07/new-victory-park-tower-will-one-tallest-outside-downtown-dallas https://www.papercitymag.com/real-estate/victory-park-dallads-high-rise-tower-the-victor-hines-bold-skyscraper/#177150
  10. If they can I think they should increase the height. 562 is cool but 620 to 700 would be better assuming it's supposed to be shorter than 720. It should be in the same air lane as 720 FP so it could be okay with FAA.
  11. I've been seeing this make the rounds. 1121ft (if it happened) would be tallest outside NYC and CHI not counting the spire on Philly's newest. I like the glass design on one of those smaller towers. Can't wait to see who Amazon picks.
  12. Well the Brits were playing baseball in London this 4th of July. It'd be interesting to see if cricket can catch on here. Lots of Indian and Pakistanis will be fans for sure though.
  13. Hope they don't change it too much. I like that render.
  14. My mom used to work there in the 80s when it was Murray Savings. Good to see new life for the site.
  15. ^I can't wait till this one hits over 30 stories. It'll make an impact. 1900 Pearl is also a very interesting bldg. Basically some office space over a tall parking garage. Good way to get height. More bldgs should do this.(362ft for 25 stories)
  16. I'm just going off what Google says. Some of the businesses at that location say Dallas, some say Addison,Dallas...like its a Burrough or something. It's a hot loogie spits throw in distance so whatever.
  17. Its still in Dallas proper. https://www.google.com/search?q=14223+dallas+parkway&oq=14223+dallas+p&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j33.9707j0j4&client=ms-android-boost-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
  18. ^Awesome. Finally major high-rise construction outside the core. Maybe this will inspire the midtown project to speed up. It'd be nice if they went taller.
  19. I disagree. Anyone in Dallas who knows about skyscrapers knows Houston has the tallest and (will always have) the most number of tall bldgs. I am 101% certain Perot knows this too. I doubt Dallas will ever reach the same number of tall blgs around the city and if it did Houston would have doubled by that time but I wouldnt doubt if we put up some more 30 story+s in unexpected places outside the core. Id keep an eye on the southside in the next decade too. Ive never heard any Dallas people talk like that. Truthfully all cities have pompous citizens. Ive actually found Austin to be the most smug.
  20. Yea that BOA in ATL is all fluff at the top. Take away the spire and it's almost the same rooftop height as the Dallas BOA. Yep 69+ stories with tall ceilings is possible for this Foster tower if built even with small floor plates. Just a reminder: 432 Park Ave is only 412,000sqft and stands well over 1,300 feet.
  21. It's a good looking render. I just hope it doesn't look like a giant grain silo. J/k I think he will do a great job. 1 million sq ft can reach 300m easily. If it's at least 788ft that would be cool. At least 922ft would great. 300m(984ft) would rock. 1003ft would be better.
  22. Finally Perot sounds excited like he's got some fire now!! Its about time. Truthfully I was very dissappointed in the first render. That render looked boring as heck, almost generic. After looking at bold skyscrapers around the globe (especially my favorites in Moscow) I wondered why we couldn't have another bold design to continue the theme started in the 80s. This design is gorgeous and has a London/Moscow/international type of feel. Nothing looks like it in Dallas. This should easily hit 900ft+. Even if its just 1,000,000sqft. Just look at 432 Park Ave in NYC. That sucker is like over 1300ft yet skinny(412ksqft). We can finally get our deserved supertall with a smaller footprint. Since the spot has no height limit we need to go hard or go home. Glad Perot wanted something more aggressive. No wonder he has been so quiet over the last 3+ years. I hope its taller than LAs US Bank Tower (1018ft). 1025ft would be a perfect height IMO but if they can go taller.....wow! (There's not an emoticon on site that can express my thoughts right now)!!!
  23. And now some more info on the other "40 story" tower. The Flora Street Lofts. This new literature is now stating the tower could be 41 stories. According to the article it should begin this fall. Awaiting Tax credit approval this summer. Yes this will have Section 8 housing for starving artists. One wonders how you prove youre an "artist" to receive this tax credit. Haha. Whatever. She's gonna look good. http://dallas.towers.net/2017/03/22/creative-housing-for-creatives-flora-street-lofts/
  24. More news on AMLI Tower: 46 story, 562ft. http://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2017/03/20/developer-buys-site-new-downtown-dallas-skyscraper
