  1. I actually took some pics about two weeks ago, but am having issues with imageshack. How can I upload to HAIF, anyway?
  2. @Niche: And you can blame that damn Butler!
  3. Hmm, I was just in the vicinity a couple of times recently, and there has been construction work going on, with backhoes and the like. Are they doing the park thingy already, or something else?
  4. What we need is more protection...on the border, that is. And put it on right, so they don't slip by!
  5. But hey, we could have the Pride Parades on floating floats from now on!
  6. Looks like something out of a late 80's or early 90's cartoon or something. Come on, people!
  7. Quite a nice office indeed, but it isn't really that much different from the Houston office. The main differences I see are the "warehouse" portions with the high windows (more natural light), the exposed columns, and the higher ceilings. The Houston office shares most of the other components, including the coffee bar, designer furniture, shared spaces, etc. They even managed to get the landlord to allow them to construct a glass staircase connecting the two levels of their office. The SF one is definitely better than ours, but the Houston one is still nice.
  8. I'm surprised that the San Antonio zoo made the list! The last time I was there, in late 2006, it wasn't too impressive. It wasn't bad though; some of the enclosures just seemed kinda small.
  9. Confirmation!!! http://swamplot.com/places-everyone-houston-ballet-center-for-dance-starts-digging-in-downtown/2009-07-24/
  10. Lake Flato, eh? They're quite a distinct firm indeed, and they do have some pretty neat projects under their belts. The UT School of Nursing and Student Community Center in the TMC is one of theirs, in fact.
  11. And where do you supposed that will be, eh?
  12. Sadly, the "thieves in suits" often make their beds with the politicians, which enables them to fleece the populace even more!
  13. Not too pretty, but it will do a decent job of covering up that part of the Wedge. Oh, and it's more affordable hotel rooms for the CBD. Win.
  14. It reminds me of the many two-story strip mall complexes going up around the Westchase area, off of Bellaire. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source...173.25,,0,-0.71
